The Progress of our Technology and Its Positive Effect to our Youth

Our technology is truly amazing. It allows us explore things that were once unreachable. It even allows us an avenue to broaden our horizons not just concentrate on whatever it is that we have to do. Although it is sort of a violation of Plato's philosophy (only do things that suit our responsibility in the community i.e. if you are a student then you have to study and nothing else), these technologies allow us to know more and more stuffs about our environment and has led this generation to become critical thinkers much like Plato himself.

This century has been all about gadgets. We have seen the progress of the development of technology and how its improvements have become very popular to the youth. Let us take for example Nokia cellphones. The brand, along with other brands started out with phones whose only function is to make calls. They are often bulky, big and just plain boring. Only a few people can afford this phones for they cost a fortune (usual plans include handset plus the line which you use for making a call). Then the emergence of little less bulky phones which include an SMS service and to forward things up the surfacing of the multi-purpose phones which is an intersection of beauty and functionality at the same time. Indeed, no one can ask for more with these cellphones of the present!

Similarly, music gadgets started out as bulky components which have to be bought separately in order to provide for maximum function. Then components have become multi-function so you no longer have to buy components separately. Then things became more handy and so mobility then was the main theme. So portable CD players came into the scene. After which, there came the mP3 players which is way handy and eliminates CDs. And currently, what we have now are iPods where you can play your music files, install multiple numbers of files, surf the net and what is best is that you can do all these with just a touch of your fingers. And voila! The world is all yours.

The best thing I like technology is that it is very full of surprises. You just wouldn't know what will come next, what will be the next big thing or what will be the latest craze. The youth and the young at hearts, most especially are the ones who really gets a great deal of benefits out of our latest technology. I wouldn't say that the latest innovations somehow spoil the minds of our youths (although that is what is currently happening right now!). What is important is that the progress of technology has given us more positive results than bad ones. For example, the youth are now much more likely to be conscious about current events. They are no longer blinded by unbelievable alibis their parents make up when they wonder about a certain issue. There are these search engines which, with just one click will easily give you the answer. The youth have also become more creative in enhancing every physical, mental and even emotional aspect. Anyway, the thing about interpreting results is to look at it from a positive perspective and everything positive will elicit from it.
