In addition to current, the physiological effects of an electrical shock, is determined by the duration of the current and the power source of the current. For example: The 110 volts found in your typical household current is dangerous because it can pump many amperes of current throughout the body indefinitely. The power supply of the Advanced Tasers consists of 8 AA Alkaline 1.5-Volt batteries, which is capable of supplying 18 Watts of electrical power for just a few seconds.
