To choose an FTA receiver can be overwhelming but with information it becomes easier to make a good decision as to which receiver best suits you
for what you need.

Not only is there a variety of FTA receivers but there is a number of different prices and services that the receivers offer. The FTA receivers works by entering FTA keys that decode the signals and allow your TV to display thousands of channels. There is the basic receiver which introduces you to the wide world of TV for prices as low as $100.00. The next level of receivers run from $150-$250 and then the top of the line receivers used for high definition go for $400-$500. The more expensive the receiver the higher the quality the more features they come with.

Some of the new and advanced features that some higher quality receivers are equipped with are Electronic Program Guide (EPG), zoom into picture
programs and picture in picture set up. The receiver can also come with a built in Personal Video Recorder(PVR) and or dual tunes which means you can record a channelwhile watching another channel. There are other features such as S-video and a Blind SearchPower Scan that quickly locates all the channels being transmitted by satellite and last but not least the feature ON Screen Display(OSD) which allows you to move, delete and rename channels to make it easier to have the channels you want to watch quickly available.

To start your FTA system you will need a FTA receiver, a Satellite dish and a connection cord. The cord you are looking for is a satellite coaxal cable which are available at tons of different electronics stores. That's it your ready to go. Thousands of channels and no rising monthly charges.

Occasionally FTA receiver will get "zapped". This basically means that your TV channels will go down and you will need to update your box in order to get your channels back up and get you watching your satellite TV again. The updates that you need to find are called autoroll bin files. Autoroll bin files are files which automatically renew your keys. Keys are a series of numbers which you enter manually into your receiver to get your channels back up and running. This can become a pain in the neck because you can be required to enter these FTA keys multiple times daily. This is why people download autoroll files.

When buying an FTA receiver you should research the particular brand and model that you are interested in. This is very important because some of the boxes on the market today are absolutely amazing. They are easy to use and easy to setup while some other brands can be rather difficult and down right annoying to get working. One of the biggest things to keep in mind while buying a receiver is the downtime. When the receivers are zapped, which one is the first one to release new FTA files. This is probably one of the most important things to consider because being down for a long time without TV can be very frustrating and aggrevating. Some receivers will release new FTA files within hours of being zapped where as other brands can take days and possibly weeks.

FTA satellite TV testing is a hobby for many people and shouldn't be taken too seriously. If you know this is something you would be interested in please make sure you do your homework before purchasing anything because they can be a little pricey and you want to make sure you get the receiver and satellite setup that you desire.

Television channels used to be limited to what was broadcast in your area. After a long day at work, you’d arrive home to the same options. First the evening news, then the top comedies or dramas of the season, which were followed by the nightly news and late night show. The schedule was easy to predict, but not very exciting. You could plan carefully not to miss the only comedy show you really liked, at 8pm on Friday nights.

There are great deals offered to consumers by satellite television providers. The competitors appear to be locked in a never-ending competition to see who can offer more for the smallest price, locking customers into binding contracts that will ensure that they have their business secured. These deals that are offered are usually a steal for the customer, but each option should be carefully reviewed before making a decision to make sure the correct package is chosen.

Many Americans have schedules that are too full and stay at work too late to be able to watch many of their favorite sports teams play in real time. Baseball games can start as early as 10 AM if you’re a Seattle Mariner’s fan and they are on the road playing the Yankees in the Bronx. Or even worse, if you’re a soccer fan and Liverpool is playing Barcelona in the middle of the night!

If there is one thing that unites Americans, it is sports. Amidst a country of political divisions, diversity of opinions and backgrounds, where there always seems to be some altercation engrossing the public, and often dividing the public, we can always count on sports to make people forget their woes and unite around the common love of the game (minus the team rivalries, but that is more often than not a good natured division).

Countless Americans wake up in the morning dreading the day ahead. Getting the kids to school, the morning commute on the congested freeway through town, reading depressing headlines, and making small talk at the water cooler. How many times can you hear Deborah talk about her wedding plans or Jim talk about his 1950s stamp collection? Not many, if you want to stay sane. But thankfully, looming in the near future, is the promise of your return home to your new flat screen HD TV.

Now that the first decade of the 21st century has drawn to a close, it is time to ask, what were the five best TV shows of the decade? Obviously this is a controversial topic and no two people will have the same list. However, there is a legitimate argument to be made for each of the shows below, which all had at least one original airing between 2000-2009 (although the shows may have begun their run prior to 2000).

It’s been a long time in the making. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll have noticed that something big has happened in sports history. More importantly, something huge has happened for the city of New Orleans. On Sunday, February 7th, thousands of proud residents in the Crescent City crowded around high definition flat screen TVs in their neighborhood bars. Taxi drivers stayed glued to their radios, but most had very few clients to drive around.
