“What a big scam!” I exclaimed. I followed Peter into getting one of those internet TV software that everybody seemed to have nowadays. After watching the NFL on my friend’s laptop that Sunday, I needed to get me one of those fancy things. So I figured, “Why ask my condescending friend, Peter, while I could download one of these on my own”.
I had gone browsing for the software and bought the first one that promised me 10,000 TV channels. The more the merrier I figured. Peter was at stitches when I explained to him what I had done. He couldn’t imagine how naive I had been not to realize that two thirds of what is sold online as TV streaming software packages are nothing but pure scam. I really felt dim.
You see Peter is this all knowing guys who you don’t want to be caught dead asking them for an opinion. You ask Peter for advice and assumes this all-knowing-you-must-be-very daft look and goes on to shred you to pieces. You too must have had such a friend. You know the kind that will show you the only difference between you and a cow is that you can jump or climb over a restraining paddock? Yeah, that’s Peter for you.
The last thing you wanted is this guy to know anything that you don’t. No, correction, the last thing I wanted is to go ask him what kind of software was reliable for online TV. Oooohh this guy was a real piece of work. But I couldn’t help it, the guy is my friend.
I mean, the guy broke up with his girlfriend and wouldn’t listen to good advice from his friends. One thing that we never disputed was that Peter was actually far brighter than most of us. Of course we couldn’t tell him that. The guy would have gone and read us the apostle’s creed. It would have gone something like this:
• You do hereby agree that I and only I, Peter Edmonds, is your merciful King for a friend.
• That, you agree that your are have never been sure you had anything between your ears
• That, it’s only by a stroke of great misfortune and a lot of my sympathy that you happen to be my, what I would call friends.
• That, even the thought of loosing me as a friend would make you committed to a mental institution if not commit suicide.
• Blah, Blah, Blah, Fish cake…
I’m not kidding, this guy had such an ego an elephant would call him big brother. But somehow we managed to tolerate him if only to learn some of his wizardly in gadgets, gizmos and simply nerdness. Aaarrrghhh, this guy was so full of it most of the times. You must have a friend like that somewhere. The kind that knows-it all and your opinion doesn’t matter two hoots in a busy-jam-packed main street. Yes, That kind. But I digress.
As it were, I had gone and downloaded software to match Peter’s and had in the process lost a cool $100. But that wasn’t a lot of money anyway. Not for a college student on a fellowship program, sharing a crammed hostel with 3 other guys. Again, not much money. Anything for the course1 What course again? Yeah never agreeing to even contemplate reading that creed to Peter’s gleeful face. I can imagine him using our backs as a footrest with feet full of sticky, stinking mud.
I really needed the software after all and finally agreed to face my demons and massage his ego. After all he would only relish the fame and glory for a week or two. So Peter takes a long look at me and say’s “How on earth did we happen to share the same world with a guy like you? I swallowed deep and haaard.
Finally, he got over his ego spell and explained that most of the software found online are fake and don’t actually deliver what they promise. But he knew that when he downloaded his live TV internet software. He always does.
He told me that he had got one of the most reliable online softwares that he thinks very few people like him have. In short I should consider myself as joining the short list of the knowledgeable and privileged of this world.
The software he had was called the pc 2007 Elite something. It actually looked cool and the quality was fine. It had something like 3000 channels and over 1000 satellite radio channels. He gloated that, unlike me who had spent $100 for a worthless piece of junk, he had only paid $49.95. Touché!!
Anyway to cut my short story longer, I finally managed to get him to help me download the same software and I’m now able to watch as many online TV channels as he does. Of course, due to self-esteem issues I cannot tell you how else he made me feel helpless.
Anyway I decided that for all the metal anguish under Peter’s tutelage, the least I could do is tell all and let everybody get this software for themselves. The poor sadist would read me the riots act he knew I just made their exclusive ownership club public. Rate this Article:

I get relly bad wireless signal in my house on my laptop. The setup i have is on my desktop downstairs, I have a modem then a wireless router hocked up to my computer. I just moved to this house 1 month ago from a apartment with the same setupand it worked fine there. now up stairs my signal strength goes in and out, excellent to poor, good, verry poor, very good, and the speed goes up and down from 54.0 mbps to 1.0 mpbs with out moving!
