While choosing between a LCD TV and a Plasma TV, we are comparing between the two competing technologies. As far as LCD TVs are concerned, it uses the florescent backlighting to produce images. So, LCD TVs require considerably less power to operate than its plasma counterpart.
The extra pixels and the production process of LCD TVs cost more money to produce. So, you would find the LCD TV to be expensive as compared to the Plasma TVs.
