Rakhi Sawant on Her New Show

In a never-before, no-holds-barred interview with Aamir Khan, Rakhi Sawant talks to him about everything under the sun — right from movies to why SRK is considered the best and to the physical attribute Aamir would like to change in himself. Given her bindaas attitude, it doesn’t come as a surprise when she quizzes Aamir on things that no host has ever had the nerves to ask. One thing is for sure, Rakhi can’t be ignored. You could either love her for her garish indifference or hate her for being pompous and direct.

Tonight when Rakhi interviews the perfectionist Aamir who usually stays away from media and interviews, she has the grit to say, “When you married the second time, I didn’t like it. I like your first wife Reena more than Kiran. You both looked nice together.” Ask her if it was easy to take on a celebrity of the status of Aamir Khan on her first show and she says, “I had heard that Aamir snaps at people if they ask him uncomfortable questions. But it wasn’t difficult for me. I believe if you talk to someone with love, people tell you everything. Through this show I am not taking a dig at him, instead I am like a friend, host and a well wisher. I wanted to bring the real Aamir Khan to the audience, to clear his image. I am doing a kind of social work.”

And not missing a chance to throw complements at Rakhi, Aamir is at his comfortable best on the show. He even comments on why he doesn’t come to every award function, “I have nothing against award functions but it depends on the organisation. I only go to awards that have some value to it like the National Award. But I avoid going to shows that hold no value to me.”
And when Rakhi says “I am not going to shy away from asking anything,” she means it.
