Tickle your mismatched funny bones with Young Frankenstein tickets.
Don’t be scared, Young Frankenstein tickets are more about comedy than horror anyway. Mel Brooks takes his hilarious movie featuring co-writer Gene Wilder as young Dr. Frankenstein and brings it to life on stage in an even more animated parody of the classic Frankenstein horror films. The storyline features the next generation of Dr. Frankenstein coming back to his deceased grandfather’s castle and monster-making plans. Young Frankenstein soon gets sucked into his grandfather’s obsession and brings his own monster to life. Too bad his odd assistant, Igor, picked out an abnormal brain for the freakishly large creature. Making more trouble for Dr. Frankenstein is Inga, the beautiful assistant. Frankenstein’s romance heats up with Inga just as his fiancée Elizabeth shows up at the castle.
Brooks brings new life to the 1974 film by adding musical score he wrote. Tracks include “He Vas My Boyfriend,” “Join the Family Business” and “Man About Town.” Brooks has composed scores in the past including all the music for the Tony Award winning musical The Producers, which Brooks also wrote. The success of the Producers helped Brooks delve into turning Young Frankenstein into a stage production. The musical opened to mixed reviews but eventually gained respect by nabbing eight Drama Desk nominations. Droves of people have come out to see the show, making Young Frankenstein tickets as envied commodity.
Showing on Broadway, Young Frankenstein has a cast of well-known actors to create this scary comedy. Roger Bart takes the starring role as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein. His resume includes Broadway shows like The Producers as well as spots on popular television shows like Desperate Housewives and movies like The Stepford Wives. Frankenstein’s high-maintenance fiancée is played by Will and Grace’s Megan Mullally. Sutton Foster plays Inga, Andrea Martin plays Frau Blucher and Christopher Fitzgerald plays Igor. Film and stage veteran Shuler Hensley plays the monster.
For those who loved the movie or search for a great comedy, Young Frankenstein is sure to hit the spot. Mel Brooks rarely disappoints with plays like The Producers and parody movies like Robin Hood: Men in Tights and his newest Broadway venture is no different. The actors in the play are seasoned veterans when it comes to comedy with stars like Mullally having two Emmy Awards and four Screen Actors Guild Awards. So what are you scared of? Get a group of Mel Brooks fans together and reserve your Young Frankenstein tickets!
