How to Manage Your Time

"Time management is one of the most important skills you can develop; when you control where your time goes, you become capable of succeeding at whatever it is you set out to do."

Find out how to control your time as easy as 1-2-3!

• Most of the people who want to achieve goals and change their lives never begin the journey to get where they want to go.
• Most people will start it, go a few steps, and then quit
• Most people quit using every excuse in the book to not continue

Any of these excuses sound familiar?

"I can't because I work two jobs"
"I can't because I am a stay-at-home-mom"
"I don't have the skills"

Just once, if you want to achieve something, you need to tell yourself you can do it. When you decide that you are going to start managing your time, the first thing you need to do is change the way you think about your goals. Your goals, ultimately, are the focus of your time management. You have to start recognizing that you can do things, that it might take them some time, but they can achieve their goals and dreams. After all, how do you climb Mount Everest? You climb one step at a time. It's the same with managing your time and changing your mindset. First, before you learn new skills, you have to learn how to change your way of thinking.

Once you've convinced yourself you can do things, it's time to actually learn the mechanics of time management. The method I prefer is called the 1,2,3 Method. The first thing you need you to do is take a pen and a notepad; start writing down all the things that you have to get done tomorrow. Once your list is written put a number next to each item, 1, 2, or 3 based on importance. Put a number 1 next to all the things that you must get done, a number 2 next to the things that you should get done, and a number 3 next to all the things it would be nice to complete. Anything else that is left, try to delegate it to other people or eliminate it from your list by taking care of it quickly.

Once you have organized yourself, begin to say no to all diversions and distractions. Focus on getting all of the 1 and 2 items done. What's amazing is that when you start completing your top priority tasks, you start to feel all of this energy building up inside of you. At the same time, your stress starts to disappear. You start to feel a sense of self-control and self-mastery that's decidedly liberating.

Tips for Time Management Excellence:

• Sit down and write down your goals and objectives.
• Make sure you're very clear about what you want.
• Remind yourself that it doesn't matter how much time you put in overall, but how much time you spend on the important tasks.
• Remember that everything is a habit, either a good one or a bad one.

Does Islam Oppress Women?

By: Zohra Sarwari | 26/09/2009 | Religion
As I read this quote I smiled realizing how true this was. I could never understand how a man could possibly understand what we women go through. Just as I don't understand how men could understand what we women experience, I can't understand where people who don't practice a certain faith, or have depth knowledge about it, make assumptions about it. Living in the States, it is wonderful in many ways. We have freedom of Religion, Freedom of Speech, and Freedom to be who we are.
