Rubbermaid Sheds - How To Choose The Right Shed

Rubbermaid sheds come in a variety of models and sizes to store any type of items around your home. The key is choosing the right shed for your needs. Here are some tips to help you make the right choice.

Before buying any Rubbermaid storage unit, ask yourself what you plan on storing in it. For example, do you want to store lawn equipment, bikes, and other large outdoor items? Then don't choose an upright shed. On the flip side, an upright shed is great for tools, paint cans, boxes and other smaller items.

A shed like the Rubbermaid Big Max works well for all outdoor equipment, lawn and garden tools and just about anything else you want to protect. Items like wheel barrows or cats fit inside easily. There is room for shelves to fit on the wall as well.

The company also makes a vertical shed that does a similar job, but has a slide lid to it. This is fine in most cases, but some have reported having trouble with the lid in windy conditions.

The advantages to these sheds over wood storage sheds are big. With a wood shed you have an increased cost with materials, as well as the need for repainting in the future and shingles to replace, etc. Another big issue is wood rot that is quite common in damp, wet climates.

Rubbermaid sheds are easier to assemble, as the sides and roof snap together and then stay fastened with screws. A floor is also included to keep the shed waterproof. Swinging door or lids have built-in hasps for accepting padlocks for added safety and security.

Finding the best shed to fill your needs is easier when you take your time and consider your options.
