A Sales Course Is Your Best Investment

A lot of salespeople never take another sales course after receiving some basic sales training. I guess that’s why 80% of the salespeople earn only 20% of the commissions. The top 20% of salespeople are always involved in a sales course DVD or CD. The top 20% know that Sales is about sales skills and you can find those skills in the right sales course.

Selling is a professional profession. Like every other professional profession, Selling requires, if not demands, professional skills. Would go to accountant that knew nothing about the new Tax Code? A few extra sales here and there can add up to a big difference. A solid sales course returns a solid ROI for those willing to invest in their careers. Salespeople should never be far from some sales training material.

I have a well deserved reputation for being blunt so here I go again. You can’t succeed in sales if you are not constantly involved in a sales course. Sales success is earned and you earn that success by being willing to invest in your career. It’s not about working harder at things that don’t work. I don’t care if it’s a sales course CD, DVD, book or seminar. You need to constantly improve sales skills and that’s what happens with a powerful sales training course.

I also recommend a monthly sales course for even the most experienced sales reps. These sales reps tend to reach a peak in their careers and they need something to take them even higher. That “something” could be a few new sales skills and strategies that could take them over the top. There is nothing wrong with being reminded to do the things you already know you should be doing.

One of the most important and overlooked benefits of a sales course is the motivation it instills in salespeople. Once armed with a few new skills, salespeople rush out into the field anxious to put those new skills to work. This benefit alone is cost justification for the training.

Anyone that thinks Sales is easy if flat out wrong. Selling is hard work but the rewards are well worth the effort. During the sales process, a reps mind is running on all cylinders. They have to listen to their prospect and even hear what isn’t being said. Every word is important and that’s why the skills discovered in sales training programs are so critical to sales success

If you are considering a sales course… go ahead and do it. The skills you discover will stay with you throughout your entire career.
