Australia is one of the most beautiful and intriguing places on the face of the earth. Tourism is a huge part of their economy especially during any of the wonderful festivals that the continent holds each year. Australia is more then picturesque views and breathtaking sites, their elaborate festivals reveal so much more to live in the down under then anyone could imagine and no one more important then the others.
Each year there is a yacht race is held from Sydney to Hobart. The finish line in Hobart signifies the beginning of a totally new event, the 'The Hobart Summer Festival'. Right after Christmas and al the way into mid-January celebrate in the summer sun. Hobart's waterfront becomes the epitome of Tasmanian entertainment, arts and crafts. During this gigantic fest you will find many other related festivals like International Buskers Festival, Taste of Tasmania (food and wine fest), and Australian Wooden Boat Festival.
Glen Innes is the host to the four day annual 'Australian Celtic Festival'. Glen Innes has a cultural influence from Scotland and celebrates it each year at The Australian Standing Stones. The stone are based on the Ring of Brodgar in Orkney, and are the focal point of this particular festival. The granite giants are just like that which the ancient Celts danced around. Here is where they celebrate spectacular traditions with Celtic dance, songs and food.
Three days of fantastic fun are found during the annual 'Coast Fest'.Mainly a musical event, this festival also encourages arts and culture through dance, visual arts and theater. All of this revolves around the central coast area of Australia. Also it being a non-profit event , this festival helps promotes environmental conservation for a suitable future.
Just two hours from Harbor city of Sydney you will find the annual 'Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival'. The amazing scenic backdrop of Kangaroo Valley hosts this event each year to celebrate folk music. There is an array of magical musicians, insightful poets, buskers, folk dances and even workshops to learn the arts. There is nothing like learning the culture of a country. Around the showgrounds there is plenty of parking and camping.
The 'Lake Bolac Eel Festival is another low cost event that hosts artistic and cultural aspects of the Aboriginal heritage to enrich its community. This community focuses on the restoration to the lake and water systems surrounding it, as the plant and animal life is very important to the region.
