A Fun Learning Experience

Opened in 2001, the Children’s’ Discovery Museum comprises of eight sections. These eight sections showcase 123 exhibits and are located in three buildings and one outdoor building.

The first building has four galleries and comprises of the Body and Mind Gallery, the Culture Gallery and the Technology Gallery. The Body and Mind Gallery is located on the ground floor and teaches children about the physiology and inner workings of the human brain and body.

The Culture and Society Gallery, situated on the second floor, exhibits real traditional drums, languages and folk music from Thailand. A tiny music room is placed here for one to practice some music.

The Technology Gallery sited on the third floor, displays exhibits about electricity and appliances, computers, transportation, telecommunication, radio and television production. Children can get to see how special effects are done using the blue screens to make Superman fly in the films.

The second building is a five story building and comprises of the Queen Sirkit Park Gallery. The Queen Sirkit Park Gallery, also called the Queens Gallery is an art museum. This gallery of the Children’s Discovery Museum was opened ceremoniously in 2003 by the request of Queen Sirkit, the queen of Thailand. Queen Sirkit required a permanent public display, which would help advance the works of renowned young Thai artists. The gallery covers a floor space area of 3,700 square meters.

The third building holds the Nature and Environment Gallery; the gallery makes children aware about living species and biodiversity.

The Children’s Discovery Museum offers the children a wonderful opportunity to learn in a fun environment, the museum is located in Bangkok, Thailand on the northern periphery of the Chatuchak Weekend Market.
