A Great Greek Honeymoon Vacation Package

A Perfect honeymoon vacation in many people's opinion should be in an hotel which has no children as guests. Listed as one of the top honeymoon vacation hotels in Europe is the Imaret at Kavala in Greece. It doesn't allow children, and for a number of reasons should seriously be considered as a suitable destination for a romantic honeymoon destination.

The Imaret in Kavala in Greece is what is known as a 'Monument' hotel. It is a genuine historical restored building which just oozes history from every pore. Built in the early part of the nineteenth century by the Viceroy of Egypt as his gift to the town of Kavala it has been restored as a monument hotel in 2004 ensuring that the building's character and cultural heritage were preserved. Staying here is like staying in history and feeling part of it. One guest described their experience here as being part of an oriental fairy tale, and you will realise why within minutes of your arrival

This background makes it an ideal place to spend a honeymoon vacation, but there is more, a lot more that makes the Imaret the ideal romantic honeymoon destination.

In reality it is more the Middle east than Greek in its architectural style, and it has a unique grandeur as it sits on the hillside overlooking the picturesque harbour of Kavala.

When you enter on your honeymoon vacation it is like going back in time to another world. It is a combination of space, archways, courtyards and patios under imposing domes. It may be like going back in time but the hotel is contemporary and at the same time intimate enough to make it the perfect honeymoon spot. Having said that it will take a couple of days to explore and find your way around. In fact this may be the only hotel in the world where you can have a house tour accompanied by an archaeologist.

There are thirty rooms and suites, which are both comfortable and elegant and are situated around inner courtyards, all of which are different. One is a garden with a water feature, some have sea views or overlook the port of Kavala . If you were able to stay at Imaret in the summer and the winter you will even find the décor in the rooms changes with the seasons. The bed and bath linens are top of the range.

The Imaret has an outdoor swimming pool, its own private beach where you can go waterskiing, jet skiing and kayaking. It is also possible to go horseback riding, and the hotel arranges cultural visits in the area. If you want to go fishing, sailing, or play tennis then that is no problem. For the idle, and after all that is what a honeymoon vacation should be all about. This isn't forgetting couples who are just on a Greece vacation Package either who may not want to be energetic there is a traditional Middle Eastern Hammam and Massage treatments to help you unwind.

The Imaret Kavala could be a good honeymoon vacation spot, and in time it could even be a top honeymoon vacation spot if the attitude of the staff and the management were to go from unwelcoming to warmth.

TURKEY

By: Michael Mifsud | 08/11/2009
Turkey stands at the gateposts of Europe, plaintive but proud. The British have rallied to its shores, disappointed and scarred by their previous choice of residence. But can a country of such cultural diversity with its folds in Islam, form part of a people of such apparently different outlooks ? The proof of the pudding is in the eating and this pudding could even taste nice if its delicacies and culture is anything to go by. Turkish, it seems, has been there before...
