There are very good reasons to choose Cottars 1920s Camp for your Kenya Safari , and you will find them here.
Your Kenya Safari will be made or ruined by your choice of Game Reserve, the time of year you choose, and most importantly what Camp or Lodge you choose as your base. Cottars 1920s Camp is not like the majority of Africa Safari Camps and that is why you should choose it for a Kenya Safari or even more a honeymoon in Kenya.
You see Cottars 1920s Camp is specifically designed to bring back the era of the 1920's. It will really take you back to that time when a safari was a great adventure only for the rich. Its setting brings back the luxury and romance of those far off times.
The Cottar family has been running Safaris for over eighty years and all that expertise learned in the golden times allows them great skill in professional guiding, in fact without equal, and gives you adventure with very importantly elegance.
Cottars 1920s Camp can accommodate up to 16 guests in huge, white canvas tents. There are eight tents each of them has a verandah with a canopy and set up in such a way to ensure privacy, and each has its own private butler. All the furnishings are genuine safari antiques from the 1920's . They all are ensuite bathrooms and showers and proper flush toilets. There is a tented library and the food is the very best to be found anywhere in the bush in Kenya.
In fact the dinner experience is absolutely 1920's in every way. The dining table is laid with silver cutlery and white table cloths. The crystal wine glasses add to the effect, as do the immaculately attired staff who wait at the table. The effect is spectacular.
Incidentally the price you pay includes full board plus soft drinks, beer, spirits, and house wines, and the only extras to be paid are park fees, exclusive use of vehicles, and other excursions you might ask for.
Cottars 1920s Camp is situated in the south east of the Maasai Mara bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo Reserves. The really important point is that the camp is within a 250,000 acre exclusive concession. This means an area that isn't spoilt at all by tourism or any development at all, thus ensuring privacy.
The guest activities also sets Cottars apart. The Game Drives are guided by Calvin Cottar or extremely well qualified and equally able guides. You will journey out in a variety of modes of transport. It might be a 4x4 wheeled drive vehicle, an authentic old wooden car, or even an oxen pulled wagon. It may be that you go on foot to get even closer to the game. The trained trackers are amongst the very best in Africa and will get you up close and personal to wild game. All this made so much easier because of the private concession that Cottars has.
To while away the hours between early morning game drives and night drives there is a natural rock swimming pool with hammocks all round it, so you can relax and enjoy the view. You can even have a massage, manicure, or pedicure.
If you like old fashioned quality, then you will love Cottars 1920s Camp
