If you want somewhere that is a romantic wedding destination, an affordable vacation, and high class self catering accommodation all in one, then check out Yepton Estate Cottages at St John's Antigua
As an affordable vacation, the self catering holiday accommodation tends to be the cheapest for obvious reasons, but it isn't often that you get the quality as you do at Yepton Estate Cottages st John's in Antigua. It's even less frequently that you hear that somewhere like that has been the perfect romantic wedding destination.
The fact that it was such a perfect romantic wedding destination is much due to the hosts Gaby and Douglas whose organisational skills which make the big day go so well. They are extremely good hosts, and the photos and videos of the big day put professional photographers in Western Europe to shame. Their wedding package includes all the fees required, transport to and from town, Wedding Posies, wedding cake, Champagne, decorated wedding table, and witnesses if required. The wedding video and photographs are a well worthwhile extra, and the basic cost is USD800.
Yepton Estate Cottages is located in a plot of just under an acre, on a salt lagoon which is home to a number of exotic birs so if you are a bird watcher, this would be a good choice for a self catering holiday. A lovely 400 yard stretch of white sand beach known as Yepton Beach is about six minutes away.
The cottages sit around a central swimming pool, and are split into two basic types. Firstly there are Studio Cottages suitable for two people with a fully equipped kitchenette, in fact probably better equipped than the one you have at home, a dining living area, and a very large king size bed. All the equipment and furnishings are so well looked after, they seem almost brand new.
The one bedroom cottages are larger with the room to add a family member, so better for people with children.
They are all air conditioned, and have a terrace with garden furniture including a table, a BBQ, and if you are in the one bedroom cottage then there is a hammock as well to relax in and enjoy the view of the lagoon and the coconut palms along the beach beyond the lagoon.
At an average price of USD185 this makes for a very affordable vacation, although to be fair you will need a car, which adds to the cost, but it's worth it to be able to tour Antigua, see the sights, and eat meals in many different and interesting places. It's also nice that you can take your two beach chairs, umbrella, and drinks cooler with you when you go exploring, so you can enjoy any number of wonderful beaches.
With apparently so little to do here, somehow you never get bored, and this may be a reflection of the position of Yepton Estate Cottages, plus the fact that any self catering holiday does require a little bit of daily planning, so you do tend to do more than if you were staying in a hotel, where lets face it you can get bored before the first week is out.
Finally it is worth repeating how good Gaby and Douglas are as hosts, from the drink at arrival time, to the impeccable directions when you want to go anywhere, to the immaculate accommodation. They will tell you which grocery store to use, the best restaurants, and generally just care so well for well being and enjoyment.
Yepton Estate Cottages is a top self catering holiday accommodation as well as being a great place for an affordable vacation or even an ideal romantic wedding destination.
