A Tourist Guide to Manchester's Beautiful Victorian Buildings

Manchester is a city in the north west of england. It was made a city in 1853 and now has a huge population of 452,000. Manchester is the third biggest conurbation in great britain and its also the third most popular city for foreign tourists to visit.

Manchester initially came to prominence during the Industrial Revolution, which is when it became the world leader in textile manufacture & production. the city is proud of its industrial past and a number of the cotton mills that were used during this time have been transformed into flats & offices.

The city is also renowned for its commerce, science & technology. It has three universities and is renowned as the home of the Baby computer, which revolutionised modern computing.

Even though the city still has many beautiful Victorian buildings such as manchester town hall and Central Library, it also boasts lots of real buildings. a number of these structures were built after the city was bombed by terrorists in1996.

There are lots of activities to do in Manchester, including many museums and galleries. occasionally of the best are URBIS, the jewish museum and the Whitworth Art Gallery.

The Whitworth art gallery boasts a friendly permanent collection of work, which include art by artists such as Picasso, Paul Klee and David Hockney. in addition to this, the art gallery also boasts several touring exhibitions.

Manchester is a wonderful place for shop lovers, because it has a vast variety of shops to suit any budget. From designer outlets for instance harvey nicks and whistles, to high-street outlets for instance facelift, you will find everything you need.

For more outlets, you will be happy to know that the enormous trafford centre is a short drive or bus ride away. This enormous shopping centre boasts 280 outlets and is one of the biggest shopping centres in britain.

You could start your night with a pint of cider in one of the city's unusual inns. on the other hand, you can enjoy a glass of rose wine or a yummy cocktail in one of Manchester's more classy wine bars. after this, you could move on to another wine bar or even to a nightclub, where you will be able to dance the night away. it goes without saying that Manchester boasts a wide variety of clubs, which means that you are positive to discover one that plays the songs you like.

Manchester has branches of much major hotel chains, so you will find some fantastic places to stay. you will be able to choose from the likes of the Hilton, the ramada and the Radisson, so you're guaranteed to have a fabulous stay in the city.

On the other hand, the city boasts numerous b & bs and hostels, which are well suited to travellers on a budget.
