Are you interested in traveling to the Caribbean for an all-inclusive vacation? If so, you need to choose a resort. When doing so, your first thought may be to opt for the cheapest resort. This is a good idea, but there are many risks involved. Why should you avoid basing your resort choice solely on price?
You are likely to make assumptions. Just because a resort or hotel is classified as an all-inclusive establishment, it doesn't necessarily mean it is. Some hotels like to give guests free meals and drinks at their onsite restaurant and think that qualifies them as an all-inclusive hotel. Technically it does, but you want more. You want an all-inclusive resort. Resorts are better than hotels. Not only are your snacks, food, drinks, and tips included in the cost of your stay, but you should have multiple eateries to choose from. Not just one. Moreover, many onsite activities are included too.
You may end up with a second rate vacation. As previously stated, not all inclusive hotels and resorts are created equal. They vary greatly. Your goal should be to choose a resort with multiple inclusions and choices. Have many water and land based activities to choose from, as well as multiple onsite eateries. When you focus solely on price, you don't spend time examining the extras. Unfortunately, the best deals don't always translate into the lowest price. In terms of Caribbean all-inclusive vacations, it is best to opt for best value, as opposed to the lowest price.
You don't know what to expect. You aren't likely to do much research other than the price. This means that you may not know what to expect. When it comes to planning an important trip, like Caribbean vacations, always know what awaits you. Don't find out too late that your beachfront hotel or resort does not include the cost of beach related activities, like snorkeling or windsurfing. Truly all-inclusive resorts do. Not only do they give you the option to participate in these activities, but you should not have to pay extra for any needed rental gear.
You can't turn back the clock. Say that you selected your Caribbean all-inclusive resort based on price and nothing else. You arrive at your hotel or resort and are disappointed. What happens next? You are left trying to salvage your trip. This is not how Caribbean vacations are supposed to work. They are supposed to be once in a lifetime trips that you will never forget! Don't look back on your vacation with sorrow or regret. Prevent that from ever happening by doing more than just comparing the cost of all-inclusive resorts and inclusive travel packages.
As you can see, there are some dangers to basing your Caribbean resort choice solely on price. So, what should you do instead?
Familiarize yourself with all resorts in your intended vacation destination. If traveling to Jamaica, look for Jamaica resorts. If traveling to the Bahamas, look for Bahamas resorts. Once you know what your staying options are, you can start to compare.
Speaking of comparing resorts, what is it that you are looking for? First, choose a resort that you can stay at. Some Caribbean resorts are themed. If opting for a family vacation, know that children under the ages of 14, 16, or 18 are often prohibited from staying at adult only resorts, singles resorts, or couples resorts. Then, closely examine inclusions. Ensure you have lots of choices. Examine all inclusions, but focus most of your attention on dining and onsite entertainment.
After comparing all available inclusive resorts at your intended Caribbean vacation destination, you will know which resorts fit your needs and which ones don't. Some resorts should now be eliminated from your list. Your list of 10 all-inclusive resorts may now be narrowed down to one or two. If you are interested in two or more resorts, now is the time to price compare. See which resort offers you the lowest price.
In short, there are many benefits to first selecting a few of your favorite Caribbean resorts and then price comparing. You don't want to make price your sole deciding factor. If you do, you aren't guaranteed to a good vacation. This isn't what you want, so don't take the risk. Always go deeper than price. Remember, the best deal isn't always the lowest price.
