An Affordable Family Vacation at Dickenson Bay Antigua

If excellent value on Antigua is important, an affordable family vacation, close to the beach, and you like a self catering hotel, then check out Dickenson Bay Cottages.

You can enjoy an affordable family vacation on Antigua by booking the Dickenson Bay Cottages. It is a small self catering hotel with13 lovely accommodations on a hill above Dickenson Bay. At an average rate throughout the year of around USD140, it isn't only affordable, it is quite frankly a bargain for what you get for your money, which by the way averages a little under USD140..

Because it is on a hill, that does mean a five minute hike down to the beach, but that is a small price to pay for what is an ideal spot for a family vacation in Antigua. What you get for your money is one and two bedroom cottages with fully equipped kitchens, en suite bathrooms, air conditioning and fans, and daily maid service. There are one or two bedroom cottages allowing for quite large family groups.

The Accommodation gives you a real home from home feel, with lovely views over Dickenson Bay. There is a very nice pool in the middle sitting within well maintained gardens planted with tropical fruit trees, and fragrant flowers and shrubs.

Guests enjoy privileges at the Rex Halcyon Cove's Beach, use of its tennis and water sports facilities at a discount. There are plenty of eating options around Dickenson Bay, which is good because there is no restaurant on site. Amazingly Dickenson Bay Cottages never seems to be crowded. You will often find you are the only family round the pool.

There is no doubt that Dickenson Bay Cottages is a remarkably affordable family vacation, and thus allows you to 'spread your wings' a little, and perhaps hire a car to explore Antigua.

Nor should it be forgotten that it makes an ideal quiet retreat for an Antigua honeymoon, with the very comfortable and roomy accommodation so unlike the increasingly cramped bedrooms in modern hotels.

There is also the freedom to eat when you want, where you want, so you can sample all the different types of food that is available in resort areas like Dickenson Bay. This is so much less expensive than meals are in hotels as well.

The beach below the Cottages is lovely with calm turquoise water, soft sand, and always uncrowded. It isn't that clear until you get past Sandals, and boy will you be glad you made Dickenson Bay Cottages your choice when you see Sandals. It's OK, there's nothing wrong with it at all, but you have so much more being out of a hotel complex of that size.

Another thing you will notice, when looking at hotels is how clean Dickenson Bay Cottages is, and how new it all looks in comparison. It would come as no surprise to discover that staying in a quality self catering hotel as you are, quite puts you off all inclusive hotels for life. The staff too at the Dickenson Bay Cottages are very helpful, they keep the room more than clean, and somehow they seem much more interested in ensuring any excursions are with the best people and not just the ones who have a franchise with a hotel. This is a great feeling, and it also applies to car hire as well.

Dickenson Bay Cottages does give you a very affordable family vacation. The accommodation is good and the kitchens are very well equipped for a self catering hotel, and you won't regret your choice.
