An Affordable Inn on Harbour Island Bahamas

Why not try an affordable vacation in bed and breakfast accommodation on Harbour Island in the Bahamas at the Bahama House Inn.

As an affordable vacation the Bahama House Inn on Harbour Island Bahamas fits the bill admirably well.

Although it is strictly a bed and breakfast inn, it is also a reminder of the history of the Bahamas.

It dates back to the turn of the eighteenth century having been built by Harbour Island's first Justice of the Peace, and the classic pink sided clapboard house is a reminder of the early importance of Dunmore Town in the history of the Bahamas.

There are seven rooms, mostly accessed by the old fashioned verandas that run right round the upper and lower levels, and the whole appearance and feel is historical, and yet the rooms are not a bad size, very comfortable, and well maintained with great tiled bathrooms. The four poster beds are just one of the very nice touches, as is the comfy sofa and the Queen Anne style writing desks just adds to the feeling that you are living in a piece of history

You won't have been here for more than five minutes before appreciating the personal touches of the owners that are everywhere from the rooms to the beautiful gardens full of bougainvillea and other lovely tropical flowers. There are lovely places to sit in the gardens and on the verandas and not only can you see the ocean in the distance you can also get great views of the sunset.

Breakfast is served outside, and it is a proper breakfast, not just coffee and rolls. You will find fruit and a choice of bacon eggs, and French toast, all absolutely delicious, and made to measure so to speak.

One of the great things about the Bahama House Inn is its position, handy for the town and the docks, and yet only a five minute walk to a lovely pink sand beach on the other side of the island.

It is the little touches that you wouldn't necessarily expect in a bed and breakfast inn costing around $150 a night. This makes for an affordable holiday with perks.

You could well find yourself in a room complete with kitchen, and French doors opening out onto a sundeck down by the gazebo, and find it impossible to believe how little you are paying for what really feels like a privilege.

There is always a big basket full of clean rolled up beach towels in the main area, and you can get tea and coffee anytime you want.

The bar works on an honour system, and this in itself shows the kind of guests who choose this remarkable bed and breakfast inn. It is little wonder that the Bahama House Inn is rated the top bed and breakfast inn on Harbour Island.

The hosts John and Jill really have gone to town to ensure your comfort, and nothing seems too much trouble, from arranging a Golf cart, to recommending good restaurants, to giving directions to places and things you want to see, or maybe didn't even know about before!

An affordable vacation, definitely yes, a superb bed and breakfast inn - undoubtedly, great hosts - the best. Choose the Bahama House Inn and you won't be disappointed.
