And The José Inés Loredo Award Goes To…

El Arrayán is a remarkable restaurant of Puerto Vallarta which in addition to providing great food for its valuable customers provides comfort and enjoyment. Previously El Arrayán also provided cooking classes to both the locals and the tourists in Puerto Vallarta. This fabulous restaurant which through time has dedicated itself to providing a great dining experience for its customers has won the recognition it so totally deserved.

El Arrayán provides good food and at the same time stands tall in promoting the phenomenal cultural identity of Mexico. It benefits from having its own set of cooking traditions which has led to its success. The past week it was announced that El Arrayán has gained one of the most prestigious awards from the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Foods Industry which is CANIRAC for short.

In the beginning of the month of August, Francisco Mijares Noriega, the president CANIRAC offered Carmen Porras, his co-owner, this noteworthy award. This grand award was received by Claudia Victoria, Chef Mariano Valdés and the entire crew of El Arrayán on behalf of Carmen Porras. This award brought smiles and recognition to all of those who were the core representatives of El Arrayán. They are the ones who dedicated themselves in providing a great service to the people of Puerto Vallarta.

This enviable prize is named after "Don José Inés Loredo," who represents the priceless endorsement of the Mexican Cuisine. Señor Loredo is a fine specimen of both uncanny professionalism and eagerness which is dedicated to the national cuisine. He is a much-loved restaurateur and also a renowned author.

Primarily this prize is awarded to those fine and few restaurants which depict a great level of smoothness in their routine tasks, which also consign the Mexican gastronomy at an entirely honorable and international level, exalting the concepts and quality of the restaurant and lastly providing each of its customers a gentle reminder of his or her deep Mexican roots. After all Puerto Vallarta is and it remains the apple of Mexico’s eye.

The mechanism of the CANIRAC awards goes in a systematic way and is not done easily. Firstly, the regional representatives of CANIRAC nominate eligible contenders for several diverse categories, and then 12 of these nominations of the restaurants of Puerto Vallarta are chosen. And out of 12 of these El Arrayán was selected as the winner and also the most distinguished restaurant of Puerto Vallarta for the year 2009.

This is not all my friends, an official ceremony was also held for this occasion which extended into a gala. This ceremony was attended by well known and prestigious personalities of the world of national gastronomy, chamber’s regional, tourism the and lastly the national council, institutional purveyors, authorities and restaurateurs.
