There is a popular misconception that medical policy bought in one’s own nation will cover a person for the medical emergencies met during visits to foreign land(s). In USA, medical authorities will not accept a foreign company’s insurance while treating a patient. Plan A and Plan B are the two plans offered by this insurance for tourists. Coverage of $50,000 per sickness or per injury is provided under plan A. under Plan B the coverage amount per sickness or injury is double that of Plan A. However, if the applicant is more than 80 years old then the coverage amount gets reduced to $10,000.
Three deductibles are offered by this tourist medical insurance. They are of $250, $500, and $1,000. After you pay this deductible, the insurance company pays 80% of your medical expenses to a limit of $5000. The family members and dependants of the account holder are also covered by this tourist health insurance.
The insurance is purchased for a minimum duration of 15 days and a maximum duration of 12 months. Once the initial payment is made the policy holder cannot renew the insurance. He will once again have to purchase the insurance for obtaining an extended coverage.
In case the policy holder dies then Visit USA medical insurance will pay compensation to the relative(s) of the policy holder. In case of loss of member(s) too compensation is provided. If there is loss of multiple members then the highest amount of dismemberment is provided to the policy holder. However, no compensation is paid if death or loss of member is self-initiated.
If there are pre-contracted medical conditions then the tourist insurance will not bear any expenses related to those medical conditions. Medical expenses arising out of cosmetic surgery, dental surgery, and pregnancy are also not covered by insurance for tourists. This holds true even for the expenses incurred by the policyholder while taking part in some hazardous game.
