San Francisco has an array of lodging choices from, classy five star luxury hotels budget comfy inns.

San Francisco is one of the more famous cities in California. It is a leading center of culture, finance, and industry. The city is also one of the world's most tourist-attractive cities with several famous landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge, the Coit Tower, the Alcatraz Island, and the Transamerica Pyramid. Its cable cars, fascinating Chinatown, assorted mix of Victorian and modern architecture, and many hills give the City a special charm.

The city has an array of lodging choices for its visitors, ranging from classy five star resorts to budget motels. Some great choices include the Mandarin Oriental, the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins, and the Huntington Hotel.

The Mandarin Oriental San Francisco, voted the Best Business Hotel in San Francisco, is found in the middle of the city. It is located on the top eleven floors of one of San Francisco's tallest buildings. The hotel is proud of its outstanding qualities: luxury, tranquility and privacy. The Mandarin Oriental has 158 guest rooms and suites, all appointed with sophisticated Asian-influenced decor to provide for a warm escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. Guests will be able to get a good view of San Francisco Bay from their rooms, as well as a glimpse of the city's skyline. The Hotel is only a stroll away from shopping centers, theatres, galleries, and business destinations. The San Francisco cable cars run just across the front door. Dining options within the hotel include the Pacific Rim and West Coast cuisine-serving Silks Restaurant. Silks reaps awards with its Marco Polo's journey inspired menu.

Considered one of San Francisco's finest hotels is the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco. The hotel has 380 rooms, with magnificent views of the City and the Bay. It is located on the crest of Nob Hill and at the crossing of three cable car lines. The Intercontinental Mark Hopkins is one of the most historic hotels in San Francisco. Guests can easily walk a few blocks from the hotel to the Union Square, the Chinatown or take a short ride to Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Atop Nob Bill lies another luxury hotel called the Huntington Hotel. It offers 135 spacious luxury guest rooms and suites from where guests can enjoy spectacular views of the Huntington Park, the City's skyline and the San Francisco Bay. Guests staying at the Huntington will be able to get acquainted with the city as some of the more popular tourists spots are near them. Chinatown, Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf are only blocks away from the Huntington while if the guest is in town for a business trip he or she will be delighted to know that the business district is only a couple of blocks away. San Francisco's famous cable cars just glide past the front door.

A boutique hotel that can serve as a suitable alternative to the classic luxury hotel is the Campton Place. The hotel is a very popular choice among tourists. It is located adjacent to the Union Square and two blocks away from the shops on Maiden Lane. The hotel is also within close distance, about six blocks, from the Theater District, Chinatown and Nob Hill. Transportation by cable car is available one block away.

The Campton Place offers 110 guest rooms appointed with classic and elegant furniture including desks that have leather accents, Maplewood armoires with silver stencil designs and furniture that have a honey-maple finish as well as limestone bathrooms. The Campton is popular for its dining options of French cuisine with Mediterranian and Californian influences.

Other luxury hotel options include the Sheraton Hotel, the Hilton, the Argent Hotel and the Omni San Francisco. For budget-conscious travelers, they have the choice of the Holiday Inn, the Ramada, and the Quality Inn.
