Yorkshire has a population of 3,978,484, which makes it the largest county in britain. because of its size, the county is divided into four different sections; north yorkshire, west yorkshire, east yorkshire & south yorkshire.

Yorkshire grew rapidly in the 19th century thanks to the Industrial Revolution. in fact, the county's prominent industries of coal, textile & steel meant that population in the county boomed around this time.

Yorkshire has a rich history, which dates back to before roman times. Indeed, the earliest people who lived in the county were the Celts, who originated from two different tribes, the Brigantes and the Parisii.

Despite this, Yorkshire owes a lot of its growth to the industrial revolution, which happened during the nineteenth century. The county had a popular coal, textile and steel industry during this time, which boosted its population and made it much wealthier.

During the 2nd world war, Yorkshire became a vital base for raf Bomber planes.

Because Yorkshire is such a major place, there are lots of stuff to do. Indeed, you'll find that the county boasts plenty of museums & galleries to offer.

In Batley, you could visit the Yorkshire Motor Museum. This lively museum has over 40 years old vintage, retro & classic vehicles, which are great to look at. alternatively, you could visit the yorkshire air museum in york. This entertaining museum boasts a great collection of historic aircraft for visitors to enjoy.

Yorkshire is a huge county, so it is no surprise that it's got fabulous shopping opportunities. From fabulous markets in smaller towns such as Harrogate, to wonderful malls in the cities of Leeds & Sheffield, you'll find something for any shopper to enjoy in yorkshire.

Meadow hall is a really popular mall in Sheffield. it was one of the first out-of-town malls in the uk & has a wonderful 240 stores.

Yorkshire is such a massive place that it has everything you require for any kind of night out. The smaller towns boasts some wonderful pubs, but party animals should visit the cities such as Leeds, York and Sheffield for excellent clubs and elite cocktail bars.

Sheffield and leeds have some wonderful night clubs, which means that you'll be able to spend a wonderful night there. as well as this, these cities also boast a handful of wonderful live music venues, which means that you can go to watch a touring band or even a local act.
