Delhi tour, a must-visit city in lifetime

If you are planning for a vacation to Asia then Delhi(India) can be one of the perfect options. Here you will experience a perfect fusion of power, politics, culture, tradition and fashion. Delhi is divided in two parts, Old Delhi and New Delhi. New Delhi is the capital of India and it is one of the main travel destinations of northern India. It is the commercial and cultural heart of the country. The city is also a base for visiting Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world. Delhi of today still contains the remnants of few successive ancient cities. For this reason Delhi is also known as the walled city. Those are as below:
  • Qila Rai Pithora – It is near the oldest Rajput settlement in Lal-Kot. It was built by Prithvi Raj Chauhan.
  • Siri – It was built by Alauddin Khilji in 1303.
  • Tughlaqabad – It was built the Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq between 1321-1325.
  • Jahanpanah – It was built by Muhammad bin Tughlaq between 1325-1351.
  • Kotla Firoz Shah – It was built by Firoz Shah Tughlaq between 1351-1388.
  • Purana Qila – It was built by Sher Shah Suri.
  • Dinpanah – It was built by Humayun.
  • Shahjahanabad – It was built by Shah Jahan between 1638-1649. It included Lal Qila and Chandni Chowk.
Delhi has semi-arid climate and there is a very high variation between summer and winter temperatures. The summers are very hot and the winters are chilly. The minimum temperature recorded in winter was -0.6 degrees centigrade. It was on January 10, 1935. The average rainfall in Delhi is 670 mm i.e. 27 inches. July and August are the monsoon months. The main attractions of Delhi are:
  • Red Fort
  • Chandni Chowk
  • Rajghat
  • Humayun’s Tomb
  • India Gate
  • Jantar Mantar
  • Lodi Tomb
  • Qutub Minar
  • Safdarjung Tomb
  • Lotus Temple
  • Purana Qila
The nearest airport of Delhi is Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport and the main railway station is New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS). There are all budget hotels in the city and also in the NCR. The transport system is good within the city. Metro railway plays an important role in fast and clean traveling to different corners of Delhi. Delhi tourism will be one of the most memorable tour in life.
