Explore Spain

Spain is a large country located in South Western Europe. With an area of 504,030km it is the second largest island in Western Europe after France, and is the 51st largest country in the world.

Mainland Spain is mainly areas of highland and mountain ranges and also has several major rivers flowing through it. Nearer to the coast the land is much flatter compared to inland and most of the coast is lined with public beaches. Due to Spain’s geological position it experiences a variety of climates, including a Continental Mediterranean climate, a Mediterranean climate, am Oceanic climate and a Subtropical climate. Even though Spain experiences all of these climates, the weather is generally better there all year around compared to the UK – but then again where doesn’t have better weather than the UK?

Spain has approximately 46,157,822 people currently residing in the country and the most common language spoken is Spanish, however a lot of people speak very good English and closer to the North-east a lot of people will speak some French.

All over Spain are some of the most popular holiday destinations and attracts millions of visitors each year. The most popular destinations are usually located along the coast due to many people wanting beach holidays but Spain still has much to offer further inland.

Finding a place to stay in Spain is never difficult as there are so many hotels and apartments available for you to stay at and is great value for money. Every major resort in Spain has an airport close to it and so getting in to the country couldn’t be easier. Transport links in Spain are very good also. There are always frequent bus services and many taxi’s available. A lot of people chose to hire a car while in Spain to experience driving in another country and for the simplicity of being able to go where you want when you want.

If you are going to Spain I would highly recommend <a onClick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.travelsupermarket.com/travelmerge/travelsearch.aspx?package=6">car hire </a>. <a onClick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.travelsupermarket.com/c/cheap-car-hire/spain/">Car hire in Spain </a> is very common and you would find lots of <a onClick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href="http://www.travelsupermarket.com/travelmerge/travelsearch.aspx?package=6">holiday car hire </a> deals if you looked on the internet. Also, running a car in Spain is much cheaper than back here in the UK so renting your own car could save you money on getting taxis and busses every where.
