London has a rich history that spans over 2000 years, so it'd be impossible to discuss it all. However, the city was especially badly affected throughout world war two.

Along world war ii, London was heavily bombed. children were evacuated to the country side to get away the bombing. those who remained hid from from bombs in the london underground. However, nearly 35,000 londoners were killed, & about 50 000 were seriously injured.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in London is Buckingham Palace, which has been the london residence of the monarchy since 1837. The palace was 1st opened to the public in 1993 & the changing of the guard has proven particularly popular with them. This ceremony takes place in front of the palace at 11.30 every day in summer & every other day in the winter.

Buckingham Palace is found in Westminster & it is accessible by tube & bus.

London is well-known for its shopping, so you will find everything from quirky independent outlets and markets, to designer outlets.

One of the city's most well-known outlets is Selfridges, which is on Oxford st. It was initially opened in 1909 by Harry Selfridge, who wanted to make shopping lively instead of just a chore. He succeeded & the shop now has four other branches in various cities throughout britain.

London has a vast variety of activities to do after dark, including elite bars, night clubs & restaurants.

London's restaurants cater to every funds & taste. From cheap eats love Pizza Express, Pizza Hut & Bella Italia, to high-end restaurants, you will be spoiled for choice. The city also has a vast variety of Michelin starred restaurants, which include Tom Aikens, Umu & Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, although you will have to book in advance to secure a table at one of these locations.

Because it is such a massive location, London is truly simple to get to. in actual fact, it is well connected by rail and has some large train stations, including London Bridge, London Victoria, London Euston and Liverpool st. in addition to this, the city also has 3 major airports, Heathrow; Stanstead and Luton.

Driving in London can be difficult due to the congestion charge, although the city has a fabulous underground and bus network to help people get about.
