Within a very short distance of the town proper, can be found a fair few extremely fascinating sites, such as the Ayios Georgios Alamanou Convent, which was founded in the 12th century and is still used in modern times. Kourion is one of the most fascinating archaeological sites to be found on the island of Cyprus, this was an important ancient Kingdom City, and is now home to the immensely popular Kourion Museum.
Cyprus is not all about history and culture, there are also many traditional holiday pastimes on offer, all of which will be easy to reach if you have taken up some form of car hire Cyprus has many sporting facilities, including golf, karting, mountain biking and diving, along with some first class nature related activities such as turtle watching and some of the best bird watching in Europe.
