During the 2nd world war, Yorkshire became an important base for raf Bomber planes.
As you would expect from such a big county, there are lots of activities to do in Yorkshire. in actual fact, you will find some superb museums and galleries in Yorkshire.
In Sheffield, you can visit the great Millennium Galleries, which open up a fantastic permanent collection of work, in addition to holding some superb touring exhibits. alternatively, you could pay a visit to the royal armouries museum in Leeds or even the fantastic national media museum in Bradford.
