What do you want from a holiday? Fun and excitement, or peace and relaxation? Perhaps you love nothing more than a week-long retail therapy session, or you just want somewhere you can go to keep the kids happy? No matter what type of holiday you're after, you're almost guaranteed to find it in Florida. Popular with children and adrenaline junkies alike, Florida is known as the theme park capital of the world. Apart from the obvious Walt Disney World, there's Silver Springs, Busch Gardens, Magic Kingdom…the list is endless. Movie fans should really make Universal in Orlando a priority stop. Here, many of the attractions are movie-themed; The Hulk, Spiderman and Jurassic Park all lend their names to motion simulators, rollercoasters and thrilling raft rides guaranteed to get your heart pounding. The kids will love shooting aliens in the interactive Men in Black ride, while the parents can relax in one of the many restaurants and sample some genuine American cuisine. After the excitement of rollercoasters is over, the whole family can head on over to the Aquos Theatre and watch Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and the rest of the wrestlers from TNA Wrestling taping their live shows in the famous 6-sided ring. For the aquatic-minded, a visit to Florida should really include either Weeki Watchee in Tampa, or Seaworld, in Orlando. The latter boasts the longest, fastest and tallest floorless rollercoaster in the region, Kraken. But Seaworld has more than just rollercoasters; it's a marine park with killer whales, dolphins, manatees, penguins and many more, and visitor interaction is the watchword. Swimming with sharks, diving with dolphins and splashing around with sea lions are some of the exciting options available to the animal lover. But Florida isn't just about theme parks. The city of Miami, perhaps best known for being the home of Love Hate Tattoo, AKA Miami Ink, is a shopaholic's dream. Some of the largest and best malls in Florida are located here, not to mention the open-air retail venues Merrick Park and Sunset Place. Miami is also known for its beaches and clear ocean, in which diving and jet skiing are popular pastimes. Again, there's plenty for the whole family in Miami, from safari parks and boat trips through to night-time entertainment and theatres. The best way to experience Florida is by car hire. Cheap car hire in Florida can be booked online. If you don't want to drive all over the state, car hire in Orlando alone will provide an unforgettable holiday.
