Get the Most Out of Your Caribbean Vacation With These 5 Steps

Have you selected the Caribbean as your next vacation destination? Congratulations if you did; you are in for the trip of a lifetime. With that said, if this is your first time visiting a Caribbean inland, you may wonder how to get the most out of your trip. So, how can you ensure that your vacation is literally picture perfect?

1 - Opt for All-Inclusive

Most travel experts and tourists will tell you there is only one good way to travel in the Caribbean and that is all-inclusive. Yes, there are traditional hotels and vacations resorts in the Caribbean, but you may find yourself wasting time and money by opting for them.

When you book a stay at an all-inclusive Caribbean resort, most of your trip is preplanned and prepaid for. For example, your stay should include your room or suite, some forms of on site entertainment, tips, food, snacks, drinks, and possibly qualifying airport transfers. Airfare is available too, but it is optional. You get more than just a roof over your head; in fact you get much more!

In short, if you want an easy-to-plan trip and a stress-free vacation once you arrive there; all-inclusive is the only way to go.

2 - Choose Your All-Inclusive Resort Wisely

As previously stated, a stay at an all-inclusive resort includes your food, drinks, snacks, tips, and some forms of onsite entertainment. With that said, not all resorts are created equal. You want the resort that literally seems as if it is calling to you.

So, what makes a resort the perfect fit? Start with food because you should have multiple eating choices. Resorts that have a collection of casual and upscale restaurants are nice. Whether you want to kick back and relax or put on your eveningwear, you can do so.

Next, closely examine the onsite activities and entertainment that is included. You want inclusions that are things you will enjoy. If you like the water, opt for an all-inclusive beachfront resort that included the cost of snorkeling, scuba diving, or windsurfing in with your stay because you don't have to pay extra. Not only do you get access to these great activities, but you save money too.

3 - Book Your Travel Plans in Advance

Yes, last minute travel deals and discounts do exist for all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. However, there are no guarantees you will get one and you may be stuck with the leftovers. For example, you may have had your heart set on a suite upgrade, but no suites may be available at the last minute. If you truly want to have a good trip, it recommended that you make your travel arrangements in advance and not at the last minute.

So what exactly is advance? Here is the thing, it varies. You might consider advanced notice to be one month, while I may consider it to be three. The latest you should book your trip is one month beforehand. Since passports are required for Caribbean travel, give yourself enough time if you need to order yours.

4 - Make Use of Resort Inclusions

Before you depart for your Caribbean vacation, visit the online website of the Caribbean resort you opted for. What you want is to view their chart of inclusions. This lets you know exactly what you can do onsite without paying an extra fee. It easy to forget what is included or what isn't when you booked your trip a month or two ago. What should you do with this information? Make use of it. The more inclusions you make use of, the better the trip you get and the more money you save in the long-run.

5 - Remember to Have Fun

This seems like a very simple and even silly tip, but it is key to getting the most out of your Caribbean vacation. Traveling to a foreign country is likely to produce a wide range of emotions; you are excited, happy, and nervous at the same time. Packing for that trip and ensuing you have everything can also be stressful. As soon as you step off that plane, take a deep breath and forget about all your troubles. After all you are in the Caribbean; the land of fun and sun!
