Luaus in Maui are one of the most popular activities for tourists. This is especially true for tourists who are visiting Maui for the first time. Luaus are a Hawaiian celebration offering an amazing amount of food and spectacular entertainment.

There are plenty of Luau's to choose from in Maui, each of them offering their own benefits and exciting options.

The following are some of the most popular or well-known Luau's in the Maui area.

Drums of the Pacific
The Drums of the Pacific is a Polynesian Spectacular that is produced by Tihati Productions. In this Luau, you will take a journey of the Polynesian Islands.

You will witness dances and music that are authentic to such areas as New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii, Tonga, and Samoa. You will be given a shell lei and have a chance to enjoy some excellent food and beverages.

Food and beverage options include Mai Tais, Fruit Punch, Kalua Pork, Baked Kula Potatoes, Roasted Maui Onion Wedges, Haupia with Toasted Coconut, Bread Pudding, Pineapple Cake, and many other buffet dishes.

Wailea Sunset-Luau
The Wailea Sunset Luau offers you the breathtaking beauty of a Hawaiian Luau. You will be able to enjoy the beauty of Fijian dancing, Tahitian style drums, and the Samoan fire knife dancing.

In the beginning of the Luau, you will be able to enjoy a cocktail, until the underground oven is uncovered and the Kalua Pork is revealed. At this point, the feast will begin.

You will be able to feast on Salads, Grilled Fish, Chow Mien Salad, charbroiled Teriyaki Steaks, Lomi-lomi Salmon, Coconut Cream Pie, Guava Chiffon Cake, Banana Nut Cake with Chocolate Frosting, and much more.

Royal Lahaina-Luau
If you are looking for a fabulous oceanfront Luau then you will love the Royal Lahaina-Luau. From the breathtaking sunsets to the crystal blue, sparkling sea the landscaping of the Royal Lahainia Luau will offer you some of the best views on the island.

You will even have views of Lanai and Molokai in the distance. You will enjoy the dance, music, and traditional Luau activities. This Luau is perfect for families and even offers a children's buffet with special options for the kids.

The traditional buffet includes Turkey, Island Chicken, Kalua Pig, Hawaiian Sweet Potatoes, Poi, Salads, Hawaiian Pudding, Guava Bread, and many other selections. Meanwhile, the kid's buffet offers children's favorites such as Macaroni and Cheese, Corn on the Cobb, Potato Chips, Chicken Nuggets, and Hot Dogs.

Drums of Makena Luau
The Drums of Makena Luau is an oceanfront Luau that offers one of the most secluded and romantic Luau settings in Maui. You will be able to enjoy a huge buffet, amazing entertainment, and an entire evening in paradise. The luau starts with some great music and arts and crafts. Later you will experience the unearthing of the Imu, an all you can eat buffet, cocktails, a fashion show, and the spectacular, which ends the evening in style.

The menu for the evening includes Island fruits and salads, huli huli chicken, poi, garden fresh fish, fried rice, Portuguese sweet bread, and more.

If you plan on attending a Luau while you are visiting Maui make your reservations early. They sell out quickly and you need to make your reservations several weeks in advance. Also, arrive early to get a good seat.
