Honeymoon Like the A-List in the Caribbean

The Caribbean has long been considered a luxury honeymoon paradise due to its endless sandy beaches and perfect tropical climate. The remote atmosphere of many of the island's more luxurious resorts has also helped to attract celebrities for decades, who enjoy the time spent relaxing without any distractions from lurking paparazzi or screaming fans. Here are a few resorts in which some of Hollywood's A-list have recently chosen to take their luxury Caribbean honeymoons.

Jade Mountain Resort - St Lucia

Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett recently returned from a nine-day honeymoon holiday at the Jade Mountain Resort in St Lucia. The 5* resort is set in 600 acres and borders two tropical beaches. With no telephones, radios or televisions, celebrities staying here are free from the distractions of the outside world. On returning, Kendra told US Weekly Magazine that she and Hank were in heaven, "being away from everything". Whilst Kendra, who is four month's pregnant, certainly enjoyed the time spent relaxing on her luxury honeymoon, she and Hank also made the most of the hotels extensive range of facilities. The active couple snorkelled together and even hiked up the Diamond Waterfall in the south of the island during a romantic day-trip. One of the more unusual features about the Jade Mountain Resort is that each suite, including the luxury honeymoon suite, has just three walls and opens out onto a private infinity pool which offers guests spectacular views of the volcanic pitons of St Lucia. In fact the views were so good that upon returning home, Kendra blogged that she had never ever wanted to leave.

Hermitage Bay Hotel - Antigua

Howie Dorough, of the Backstreet Boys, and his long-term girlfriend, Leigh Boniello enjoyed a four day luxury honeymoon in Antigua at the beginning of 2008. Although, because of Howie's busy work schedule, the couple could only take a four-day honeymoon holiday, they made the most of their time by staying at the exclusive Hermitage Bay Hotel on Antigua's West Coast. The luxury honeymoon resort consists of 25 single storey cottages set amongst 10 acres of beautiful tropical gardens. Howie and Leigh would have enjoyed the award-winning restaurant situated on the beachfront and may have even taken part in some of the resort's extensive range of watersports, from Hobie Cat Sailing to kayaking and windsurfing. Although the couple opted to keep pictures of their tailor-made honeymoon private, they did admit to being enthralled by the beaches "The beaches had some of the most amazing white sand we have ever seen," Howie told the press upon returning. "We would have loved to stay longer." Their favourite part of their tailor-made honeymoon experience was a romantic gift from Howie's brother, Johnny, who arranged with the resort to deck out a private gazebo in tropical flowers, so that the couple could enjoy their first meal together as husband and wife.

With so many beautiful and exclusive resorts, it really is no wonder that so many celebrities are choosing to take their luxury honeymoons in the desert-island paradise of the Caribbean.
