Hotels in Corpus Christi

The eighth largest city and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Texas is the coastal city of Corpus Christi. The Latin translation of the city's name is "Body of Christ". "The Sparkling City by the Sea" is one of the most popular nicknames given to Corpus Christi. Corpus Christi is home to several colleges and universities including Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi, Del Mar College and Our Lady of Corpus Christi, a Roman Catholic university.

Tourism in Corpus Christi

Tourism is not the primary economic backbone for Corpus Christi but is very important, nonetheless. Due to its location, it is a great vacation destination year round. Winter temperatures rarely drop below 50 degrees Fahrenheit while summer temperatures may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Winter time water sports may not be as desirable as summer time sports, but the city has much more to offer than beaches and water.
