How to Find Bars and Clubs in Barcelona

Barcelona has an excellent nightlife, simply reason being that there are lots of foreigners, students, and locals alike. While in Barcelona, you will be able to find every kind of nightclubs, bars, dance clubs, jazz bars and clubs, sports bars, cocktail bars, karaoke bars and pubs. Whatever you're looking for, Barcelona nightlife is bound to have it!

You can start by visiting Baja Beach Club

A nice relaxed night of conversation over a few drinks not your idea of a good time? Then Baja Beach Club, (Passeig Marítim, 34) might be more your style. The beach club features topless bartenders, waitresses in bikinis, and more bronzed, half-naked bodies than you can shake a stick at. Follow the hordes of students and tourists to one of the themed bars and dance the night away to sugary-sweet pop music. If you want to make a repeat performance of it, consider trying to get on the VIP list, where you'll be implanted, yes, you heard us right, with a microchip in your forearm which connects to your bank account and lets you just wave your arms, literally, when you want another drink. How this is legal is beyond us, but who knows...it could be the future of clubs.

International Sounds

Ibiza party spot Pacha now has locations in a few other cities, and Barcelona's on Avda. Donctor Marañon certainly lives up to the hype. The huge, stark white disco features the latest in great DJs from Ibiza as well as live music nights, six different bars, a chill-out room and a terrace. The crowd is young and hip, so be sure to break out your best duds to ensure you don't get turned away by the doorman. Entry is steep, at €15 with a drink, but the amazing sound-system and never-ending beats make it worth the price. Check their website (www.clubpachbcn.com) to see special DJ nights and to get ont heir mailing list for offers and VIP section.

Great live music

Spain isn't well-known for its live music scene, but Razzmatazz (c/Almogàvers) is trying to change all that. Not only do they attract top artists like Miss Kitty and Blur, it also brings together the most diverse group of dance fiends you'll see this side of Berlin. It's a huge warehouse space which brings together five different clubs, featuring funk, house and dance music. Downstairs, check out the latest indie rock at the Razz Club, or head upstairs for techno at The Loft and Lo*Li*Ta. Pop, electro and disco take center stage at The Pop Room and The Rex Room. Grab a taxi to get there, as it's in an industrial part of the city about ten minutes outside the center.

"Jamboree jazz club" for lovers of jazz and flamenco this is your club. Its one of those places you can visit of your first night out in town, or if you love jazz, its one club you should not miss!

"Costa Breve", an uptown club which is always crowded with party goers, is also a club for young university community that takes the place on Thursdays to celebrate their parties

Barcelona is as they say... a night life heven!
