How to Vacation "for Free" in Thailand

Of course, everyone wants something for free. But how?

Well, if you need costly dental work why not get in done in Chiang Mai, Thailand? The doctors here speak good English. Many received some of their training in North America, their facilities are world class and their prices are far below what you would expect to pay in most parts of the world.

By the way my name is George and I am a Canadian who took up early retirement in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Why Chiang Mai? Well it is the most popular retirement city in South East Asia and it is a popular tourist destination visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists annually. The climate is cooler than Bangkok, there is less traffic here than Bangkok or even Toronto, Canada, and it is a very affordable to live in or vacation to, and there are numerous things to do here.

In Canada I was accustomed to paying between $80 and $150 Canadian just for a routine cleaning. I had four teeth bonded and that set me back thousands. When I needed my bridge replaced the dentist gave me a quote of $5,500 and told me it was a good price. Yeah sure it was a good price, but for him and not for me.

In Chiang Mai I have had the need to go to a dentist on two occasions. The first visit was for a cleaning. My teeth have been sensitive for a long time now and a good cleaning is needed regularly. The cleaning cost was $7 US. No appointment. Just walked in and walked out an hour later. No waiting a week or several weeks for a scheduled appointment.

The second dental experience was required after eating some chicken wings. The wings were tasty and I was hungry and in my enthusiasm I bit down too hard and broke a veneer. This is the first time this has ever happened. Well I had to get it fixed and right away. I e-mailed a local dentist and he took me the next day. I walked in, sat down, and in 45 minutes job well done. It looks better than ever now. The cost was 700 baht or about $17 US. My guess is that it would have set me back $100-$150 in Canada. The dentist that I visited has translators if required even though his English is excellent, they will provide transportation to and from the clinic if it is required, they post their rates on their website, and you can get a complimentary foot massage while you wait. The dental clinic in case you are interested has 9 beautiful new bungalows behind their dental clinic near the largest mall in the city. So you can stay there at a significant savings from normal hotel rates. The bungalows are new, and each has a separate bedroom, satellite TV, mini-fridge and also a new mini-van and driver on their premises for their guests.

So if you need some dental work done that will set you back thousands in North America I would suggest you come here for a vacation. Get the dental work done and enjoy the city. Take in the waterfalls, hot springs, zoo, Buddhist temples, and great shopping bargains at the famous Night Bazaar.

When you get back home you can tell your friends that you just came back from a great vacation to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and that the vacation was "FREE".

In my enthusiasm to get others to vacation here and retire here I have created a website:
http://www.retire-on-550-month.com
We offer advice on moving to Thailand, advice on living in Chiang Mai, accommodations short and long term, hosted vacation packages and much more.

The bungalows that I mentioned can be viewed on my websites Accommodations page and are available for only $30 US a night, $150/wk, $400/month. If you want to stay for more than 3 months then we can suggest or arrange longer term accommodations for even less.

Chiang Mai is often referred to as "Rose of the North" as it is beautiful city and many of the flowers that adorn the city are grown locally. Thailand is often referred to "Land of Smiles" because the Thai people are known to be cheerful and to smile frequently.

When your teeth need some major work, don't worry, sit back and smile. There is a solution and a pleasant one at that.
