London boasts a truly diverse population & over three hundred languages are spoken in the city. According to 2006 figures, it boasts a population of 75,124,00, which makes it the most populous municipality in the eu & the 2nd most populous in Europe.

London has been picked to hold olympics in 2012.

London boasts an insightful history that goes back over 2,000 years. along this time, the city has expanded to become one of the cultural & financial capitals of the world. its also suffered from the plague, devastating fire, civil war, & terrorism.

London suffered especially during world war two. It suffered bad damage from bombs during this time & multiple of thousands of children in the city were evacuated out to the countryside to avoid the bombs. The heaviest bombing occured during 7 September 1940 & 10 May 1941.

As its the capital of great britain, London boasts the best museums in the country. One of the best is the Science Museum, which is located in south kensington. The museum was founded in 1857 & has over three hundred thousand exhibits, containing Puffing Billy & Stephenson's Rocket.

The city has plenty of exciting art galleries too, containing the National Portrait art gallery.

It goes without saying that the shopping in London is the best in britain. In fact, the city boasts a wide range of famous stores, which contain Harrods and Hamleys.

Camden Town is renowned for its alternative shops and fabulous market. its a varied place, which sells everything from vintage clothes to cds.

On the other hand, shop lovers should head for knightsbridge or mayfair for the more high end stores. you will find some fantastic designer names in this exclusive area.

London is well-known for its exclusive bars, nightclubs & theatres. One of the most well known clubs is Fabric , which is located in Leicester Square. This massive club has a 1600 capacity & it attracts some massive name DJs, particularly on Fridays when it holds its renowned Fabric Live event.

Another fabulous club is Ministry of Sound, which is located in Southwark.
