If you are hungry for the sun-ripened flavors of the Mediterranean infused with Spanish flair, look no further than the restaurants of La Manga del Mar Menor. The menus in La Manga's restaurants are as colorful, rich and varied as the history of the region itself. Whether you're in the mood for family dining or an al fresco gourmet meal, you're sure to find something to please your palate in La Manga del Mar Menor.

La Manga is situated on the southernmost part of Spain's famous Costa Blanca and is world renowned for its ideal climate and beautiful beaches. Along with great weather and glorious beaches comes the delightful culinary treat of fresh produce, fish and seafood. The restaurants of La Manga take full advantage of all the local flavors of the area.

Many local dishes include rice. Try some of the many rice dishes at the La Tana restaurant for a special treat. Area specialties often combine spices, seafood and rice. Don't be surprised to find rabbit, beef and pork on the menu too.

As with many other areas in Spain, tapas are quite popular in La Manga. A tapas portion is much smaller than a full meal. Think of it as an appetizer-sized portion. Typically, you order two or three tapas plates and share them with your dining companion over a nice glass of sangria or a mojito. If you are still hungry when you finish your first round, feel free to order more until you are satisfied. Tapas meals make for great date-night destinations, since you share your food and decide together what to order.

Popular restaurants abound in La Manga. If you are seeking ambiance, look no further than the Restaurante el Parador. It is a beautiful, old home that has been converted into a modern and stylish restaurant, complete with a fireplace, palm tree garden, beach club and bar. They serve many Argentinian steakhouse classic dishes, adding some variety to the traditional La Manga fare. Run, another restaurant in town with an international flavor, serves up delicious Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese cuisine.

Another trendy spot is ZM101, one of La Manga's best restaurants. Be sure to stop in their bar for a late-night drink and snack. The restaurant is separate from the bar and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Most restaurants in La Manga accommodate customers with children, and nearly all of them have children's menus. Luigi's and Spike's restaurants are especially good choices for family dining in La Manga. Some hotels offer babysitting services for when you and your partner want to enjoy a candlelight dinner alone.

You might be hungry for a snack after some day long fun in the sun or for dinner after golfing on a championship course. You may simply be looking for a place to take the kids for pizza.Whatever your taste, La Manga del Mar Menor has something for everyone. The food of La Manga is so delicious, it will be yet another reason to come back to La Manga for your next holiday.
