Leeds and Yorkshire Tourism Guide

Widely known as the the north's unofficial capital, Leeds is a playful location. it has got a historic population of nearly 450 000. in addition to its many residents, Leeds also attracts many business travellers & tourists.

It's a well-liked city thanks to it's many places of interest, playful museums & marvellous shopping opportunities.

One of the city's best charisma is Kirkstall Abbey, which is a big abbey located in the outskirts of the city. It is thought to be one of britain's most complete examples of a medieval Cistercian abbey. construction began on the abbey in 1152 & it took over 75 years to complete. The big abbey is now a Grade 1 listed building.

As well as Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds has plenty more activities to do, which contain the big Kirkgate Market.

From the cutting edge fashion found in the Victoria Quarter to the brilliant designer outlets of The Light and the independent boutiques of the shopping arcades, Leeds offers visitors plenty of fantastic shopping opportunities. Whether you are looking for a new outfit or even an unforgettable birthday present, you are sure to find it in this fun city.

If the hectic pace of Leeds' city life gets to be too much for you, you'll be happy to know that the city has some fabulous green spaces, comprising of the award-winning mandela gardens. These fabulous gardens were built at a cost of £12 m to mark the year 2000. The pretty gardens won a prize at the 2004 chelsea flower show.
