Leeds Back Packers Guide

Leeds is a playful city that is full of fantastic cultural and legacy sites, which are thrilling to drop in. more than 100,000 people come to work in the city centre every day and thousands more come to the city to shop, dine out or only to enjoy the range of attractions Leeds has on offer.

Leeds has sometimes stunning architecture, comprising of the sensational Corn Exchange , which was designed by cuthbert brodrick in 1864. This beautiful structure is now an rock mall & it's grade I listed.

In addition to its sensational buildings, Leeds also has sometimes beautiful green spaces & amazing places of interest & significant sites.

Frequently named the 'Knightsbridge of the North', Leeds is a fantastic place for shoppers! It boasts over 1,000 shops, which include Harvey Nicholls, Louis Vuitton and more, scattered around its fashionable high streets, state-of-the-art shopping centres, Victorian arcades, substantial buildings & markets.

If you would prefer to spend your time in Leeds doing more cultural activities, you'll be happy to know that the city has 9 fantastic museums and galleries. These include the royal armouries museum and the fabulous henry moore institute, so you are sure to find something to entertain you.

If fast-paced city life gets too much, you'll be happy to know that Leeds has some gorgeous green spaces and gorgeous parks, including the award winning millennium gardens. These gorgeous gardens were constructed at a cost of £12 million to celebrate the millennium and were jointly funded by leeds council and the Millennium Commission. The gardens were awarded a prize at the 2004 Chelsea Flower Show.
