Puerto Vallarta MX is definitely one of the places where people can stay and enjoy more vacations. Puerto Vallarta MX is in the state of Jalisco and is one of Mexico's premier resort cities. The city enjoys a tropical climate, and has temperatures that remain generally constant throughout the year. The average temperature ranges form 86 °F to 70 °F. Although the wet season runs between July and September, rainfall mostly happens only during occasional rainstorms. During most days of these months, the sun's out and the beaches are idyllic venues for people wanting more vacations.
The tropical scenery of Puerto Vallarta MX can be attributed to the coastal plain of the Sierras Cuale and San Sebastian, which is where the city lies. Three rivers run through the Sierra, adding to the picturesque getaway.
Puerto Vallarta MX has four major areas. There is the hotel zone, which spans the shores in the northern side of the city. The Zona Romantica, on the other hand, is south of the Cuale river. Then there is the Centro and the residential areas, east of the hotel zone. These places have their own unique allure that keeps bringing people back for more vacations.
It is not surprising that almost half of Puerto Vallarta MX's economic activity comes from tourism. The peak season for people wanting more vacations is between November and March. The city also enjoys being one of the chosen Spring Break destinations. College kids, on their school breaks, regularly troop to Puerto Vallarta MX for more vacations. The city is particularly popular to travelers from the West Coast of the United States. This is because of the regular flights between Puerto Vallarta MX and the cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.
At the same time, Puerto Vallarta MX is also popular among local tourists. It is the preferred weekend destination of vacationers from Guadalajara. It has attracted some of the travelers to Acapulco. Likewise, the yearly Semana Santa has seen an influx of domestic travelers to Puerto Vallarta MX.
There are several cruise ships that pass through the city's port. The Love Boat (that 70s show) had even mentioned the city as the Pacific Princess' port of call. The port hosts visits from the US Navy frigates and is the base of the Mexican Navy.
The diversity of Puerto Vallarta is also very obvious as well. The city is a favored retirement location of American and Canadian retirees. It is not surprising to see many of them around. Their relocation into the city has also caused a boom in condominium developments. Likewise, the city and its beaches have become popular among gays and lesbian vacationers. Hence, there is a pronounced increase in gay clubs, shops and gay/ lesbian- exclusive resorts.
There are three main beaches in the city:
Playa Olas Altas or the High Waves Beach: The beach is a popular swimming beach among locals and domestic travelers. It shores are lined with restaurants.
Playa Los Muertos or the Beach of the Dead: This is the largest public beach in the city. The name is derived from a legendary battle between pirates and local miners. There are gay and lesbian clubs and shops on the South side, while the north side caters mostly to local and domestic travelers.
Playa Boca de Tomates or Mouth of Tomatoes: The beach sits at the mouth of the Ameca River. There are only a few visitors here due to the rocky shore and the occasional crocodiles.
