Museum Tourist Guide to the Northern City of Leeds

Leeds is a friendly and prosperous city, which is centrally placed in the North of England. The City is well-known as the commercial and tourist capital of the North and has long been known for its sizeable manufacturing industry, which is still thriving.

From beautiful architecture to historic sites, Leeds has some stunning stuff to see & do.

One of the city's finest delights is Kirkstall Abbey, which is a historic abbey located in the outskirts of the city. It is widely regarded as one of england's most complete examples of a medieval Cistercian abbey. building on the abbey began in 1152 & it took over seventy-five years to finish. The historic abbey is now a Grade 1 listed structure.

In addition to Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds has plenty more stuff to do, containing the historic Kirkgate Market.

Leeds has a fantastic shopping centre, which has a store to suit any funds. in fact, you'll find high end stores in the city's Victoria Quarter, comprising of branches of harvey nicks, Flannels and other designer outlets.

In the headrow centre, you'll find more cost-effective high-street outlets such as primark, top shop and boots.

If the fast pace of Leeds' city life gets too much for you, you will be happy to know that the city has some fabulous greenery, including the award-winning mandela gardens. These fabulous gardens were built at a cost of £12 m to mark the year 2000. The beautiful gardens were awarded a medal at the chelsea flower show in 2004.

If you would rather spend your time doing more arty activities, you will be happy to know that Leeds has nine great museums & art galleries. These include the royal armouries museum & the fantastic leeds city art gallery, so you are sure to find one to enjoy.

In addition to wonderful shopping and culture, Leeds also boasts fantastic museums. From elite wine bars and rustic pubs to gay clubs & amazing nightclubs, the city truly has something for all of us.

If you'drather have an early evening, you will be pleased to know that the city also has some wonderful luxury hotels, containing the leeds novotel. These hotels offer a real treat, so you cannot fail to get a wonderful rest and a fabulous breakfast.

Whether you're travelling by car or public transport, you'll locate getting to Leeds is easy. its well served by Leeds Railway Station, also known as Leeds City, as well as having frequent bus and coach services.
