Northern Spain and Galicia offer an exceptional variety of visitor accommodation. Accommodation can be found that will fit all forms of budgets and even the most particular tourists will find something to suit their particular needs.
In this article we are going to take a look at the Pazo de Trave.
The Pazo can be found at Galdo - 27. 850 Viviero - Lugo
As of the time of the writing of this article the contact telephone number for The Pazo is + 34 982 598 163 and the fax number is + 34 982 598 040. If you wish to contact them via email their email address is trave@pazosdegalicia.com and they can be found on the internet at www.nosnet.com/trave.
At the time of the writing of this article, the manager to contact for information would be Fina Ramallal and The Pazo has the following number of rooms: 18.
The Pazo de Trave is located on top of a small hill that overlooks and dominates the Landro Valley. The View takes in the Viveiro Estuary to the Xistral mountain range in the Viveiro parish of Galdo. This particular locality of A Marina is a perfect microcosm of Galicia. It combines the rich history and the dynamism of the small towns with the noble historic past. The region also offers the perfect mix of cultural possibilities, wildlife heritage and a good selection of "gastronomic possibilities" - i.e. a good range of interesting places to eat for the visitor.
Like all Pazos, there is a fair amount of history surrounding the building and in this case it is the following. The original central tower of the Pazo dates from the XV Century and is perfectly conserved. The construction is in a U shape and boasts an interior patio, a walled estate and a garden. Outside the walled enclosure, the visitor can find a wood with vegetation indigenous to the area. Each of the rooms is named after one of the family ancestors or a person of noble ranking from the history of Viveiro that was somehow linked to the manor house.
With regards to the actual facilities that the Pazo has to offer they are as follows: 2 suites, 2 special double rooms, 14 double rooms, Ensuite bathrooms, TV and telephone.
All usual mealtimes are observed at this Pazo and they are, Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
As well as the individual room facilities, this Pazo has the following shared amenities and facilities: Restaurant, 2 libraries with chimney, Conference room, Snooker table, Exhibition room, Sauna. Gymnasium..
Outside you can find the following amenities for guests: Swimming pool, Gardens, Picnic area, Tennis court, Vegetable garden.
The immediate geographic location for this Pazo is as follows: The Pazo is situated in the small hamlet of Galdo; the Manor House also has within its grounds a wood full of indigenous vegetation which is ideal for walking tours and the study of wild animals and plants. Without leaving the Pazo you can enjoy reading in the library, admiring its painting collection or the exhibition of heraldic shields that are self explanatory concerning the history of the building itself.
With regards to the scenic location for the Pazo, it is extremely well located. Owing to their relative near proximity and beauty, an absolute must for the visitor is a visit is to the Valdeflores Monastery or the Romanesque San Pedro church. The Cantabrian coast is less than 3 kms away from the house, where the visitor can find fine sandy beaches and clear water..
If the above are not enough for either you or your family then you will find within close proximity the following facilities; Cycle and walking tours, Hiking, Boat trip in the river Landro. Surfing or Body boarding..
All in all, not one to be missed.
