Due to the increased demand for their Guided Motorbike Tours, Extra Mile Bike Tours Ltd have now moved their base from Dorset and have established an office in Banbury, Oxfordshire and a brand new Operations Centre in Stockton on Tees, Cleveland.
New tours for 2010 include the Moselle Wine Fest Tour and the Rhine Wine Tour.
The Moselle WineFest Tour: The Moselle Valley is unlike any other region in Germany. It attracts people from far and wide with mild, almost Mediterranean temperatures. Bernkastel-Kues is one of the most appreciated Moselle towns and is proudly called the centre of the middle Moselle and it is here the tour is based. Guests flock here every year, from all over the world, to seek and find diverting recreation in the "international town of vines and wine."
The Rhine Wine Tour: Wine and the Middle Rhine are inseparable, and there’s no better place to enjoy the majestic green of the vines than at the gates of the town of Boppard. This small town, which was once a Roman fort, is the heart and sole of this holiday area and it is here this tour is based. The best wines from Bopparder Hamm flow into your glass and fascinating discoveries are to be made in the town, mirroring the two thousand year culture here on the Middle Rhine
Both tours offer the experience of biking on some amazing, first class German roads along with visits to the Nurburgring, the little town of Cochem, which has been hailed as somewhat of a motorbikers Mecca, and the world famous Asbach distillery.
The two new offices, one North and one South, now ensure greater support and co-ordination of the growing number of tours and courses on offer. Following an extensive, recent recruitment and training programme, they have increased the number of tour leaders within the team, so that Extra Mile are able to offer more guided motorcycle tours and survival courses throughout the year and this means more flexibility for the customer.
The Banbury operation has moved into an existing base, previously used by RPTMoto which was merged with Extra Mile earlier this year, whilst the Stockton on Tees location is a new, purpose built, operations centre with state of the art computer and communications technology. All the tours and routes will be mapped and tracked from here with 24/7 cover and support during the touring season.

Following in the tyre tracks of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman.....too much bravado or too little preparation?
By: Carl | 25/07/2009 | TravelSince Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman set off on their Long Way Round motorbike trip, literally thousands of people have followed in their tyre tracks. Many have braved it alone, while most have opted for the guided tour option. This has been great for the guided motorcycle tour industry, with tours varying from basic road riding around UK and Europe, to the more extreme with such trips as UK to China via Mongolia etc. But, has there been a little too much bravado or too little preparation?
