Nightlife in Majorca - Top 5 Clubs

If you fancy combining sun and sand in the daytime with a thriving nightlife this summer, a holiday in Majorca can be the perfect choice. Cheap holidays to Majorca have long been popular in the UK, and the well established clubbing scene is a big draw for visitors to the island. It's a significant place on the international DJ circuit, with many of Europe's top DJs stopping off to be a part of the nightlife in Majorca at some point during the summer.

Although some resorts on the island (most notably Magaluf) have a higher concentration of clubs than others, you should be able to sample the nightlife in Majorca wherever you are. Here is a selection of some of the biggest and best clubs to visit while on holiday in Majorca:

BCM, Magaluf

Magaluf is the clubbing capital of Majorca, and BCM is the centrepiece of Magaluf's nightlife. It regularly hosts some of the biggest DJs around - previous big names who have spun the decks here include Judge Jules and Tim Westwood.

The club has three levels. The younger crowd tend to be drawn to the top floor, with the latest new dance music and spectacular laser shows, while the middle floor attracts the slightly clubbers. Downstairs is the Millennium club, which regularly hosts its infamous foam and popcorn parties. Entry is usually about €20, but includes free drinks for the rest of the night!

Bananas, Magaluf

It may not be as large as BCM but Bananas is the place to go if you are a fan of house music - this club plays nothing but house, house and more house. Many veteran clubbers regard as the best club in Magaluf, with a great atmosphere and top notch DJs in the summer months. The club has been around for over 20 years, and in the early 1980's a then-unknown DJ Sammy made his first appearance in Majorca's nightlife at Bananas.

Menta, Alcudia

Menta is the biggest and best club in Alcudia, and is a big draw for those on holiday in Majorca. Designed like a Roman Temple, it features seven bars and even has its own open air swimming pool. The music tends to be a mixture of Spanish and disco music, and it attracts a mixture of locals and tourists in Alcudia. The regulars tend to dress up for Menta, so you'd better bring some smart clothes if you want to fit in here! It can be a pricey place, but it is well worth paying for - Menta is one of the highlights of the nightlife in Majorca.

Tito's, Palma City

Although most people on a cheap holiday in Majorca will stay out in the resorts, Palma City is well worth a visit for a few days, especially if you are into the clubbing scene. Palma has a range of top-notch clubs, and Tito's is one of the most popular. After entering through the glass elevators from the Paseo Maritimo, you'll find a classy, lively club with six bars, a laser show, and some outstanding views from the chillout terrace that looks over Palma Bay.

Tito's has been around for decades, and during its heyday during the 50's and 60's hosted Marlene Dietrich and Ray Charles. Don't come expecting soul music, however - today, the music is a mixture of the latest Garage and R and B. If you want to sample the best nightlife in Majorca, Tito's is an essential club to cross off the list.

Virtual, Illetas

If you want to visit a club with a unique atmosphere while on holiday in Majorca, then Virtual is the place for you. Located in Illetas just outside of Palma City, Virtual is a club in a cave, with a restaurant, cocktail bar and club all contained in some of the natural caves on the Illetas seafront. The music is mixture of the latest house music for the dance floors and a more relaxed selection of music in the hammock filled chillout area. Out of all the clubs in Majorca, Virtual offers something a little different from the rest.
