Planning a Jamaica Destination Wedding

Are you interested in having a destination wedding in Jamaica? If so, there are many important decisions you will have to make. To help you make those decisions, please continue reading on for helpful tips.

Passport. If you and your partner do not have valid passports, now is the time to start the process. It can take a month to two months for your passport to arrive, so plan in advance. The moment you decide to plan a Jamaica destination wedding, is when you should order your passport.

Accommodations. When looking for a place to stay in Jamaica, you may first examine Jamaica hotels. This step is okay, but instead opt for Jamaica all-inclusive resorts. By doing so, you are provided with luxury and upscale accommodations, which are ideal for a destination wedding. Next, examine what is included in the cost of your stay. The cost of Jamaica all-inclusive travel packages should include your room or suite, food, drinks, snacks, tips, and some forms of entertainment.

Honeymoon. Unfortunately, many new brides and grooms make the mistake of believing that they should not honeymoon where they got married. Of course, the decision is yours to make, but you can save a considerable amount of time, money, and stress. The good news is that by choosing a luxury all-inclusive resort you can have your wedding ceremony, reception, and honeymoon of your dreams all at the same location.

Free wedding. As previously stated, all-inclusive and super-inclusive Jamaica resorts provide you with many amenities. Did you know that one of those amenities may include a free wedding? Often times, you are provided with only a few rules and restrictions, such as a seven day stay. So, if you get married and honeymoon in the same location, your wedding ceremony can be free of charge!

Upgrades. If you opt for a Jamaica resort where your wedding is free, review the package. Since your wedding should be a dream come true, ask for upgrades. These upgrades should be available for small, yet affordable fees. Remember, free weddings are nice, but only if your wants and needs are met.

Guests. Unless you have decided on a private wedding ceremony, invite guests. Unfortunately, many brides and grooms fall victim to common misconceptions. One of those misconceptions is that most guests will not attend destination weddings. Yes, a good percentage of your guest list may be unable to attend, but you may be pleased with the turn out.

The key to inviting guests to a destination wedding is to put a positive spin on the travels. Not only do they get to attend a beautiful wedding in the Caribbean, but your guests can also have their own vacation! In fact, many want to visit the Caribbean, but don't. Your wedding invite could serve as a much needed push.

Another key to inviting guests to a destination wedding and getting them to show is to provide advance notice. As previously stated, a passport is required for travel. Not only is this an added travel expense, but planning is required. Invitations for a destination wedding should be sent no later than two months prior to the event.

In keeping with guests, it is not required, but you should do a small amount of research for your guests. Provide them with information on area hotels and resorts. You may even want to request free travel quotes. This way, all your guests need to do is request a valid passport and make their travel arrangements.

Financial assistance. As a reminder, not all guests will attend a destination wedding. With today's economy, some individuals just cannot afford the cost. As disappointing as this can be, do not let it ruin your special day. Do not feel pressured to change plans or provide compensation. You should not have to pay for an aunt or cousin to attend your destination wedding. If they cannot afford the cost, they cannot afford the cost. With that said, if any immediate family members or wedding party members need financial assistance, consider offering it, but only if you can afford.
