The beautiful city of Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, is located in the heart of Europe and is brimming with culture, history, tourist attractions, entertainment and much more!
Prague is a fascinating and exciting city to visit and offers a wealth of sightseeing opportunities that appeal to all ages and tastes. Whether you're planning a weekend break or a longer sightseeing holiday, this great European city is an ideal destination choice.
Prague also boasts a variety of self-catering accommodation, so it's a great location for a holiday property rental.
But however long you plan to stay in Prague, you will no doubt be eager to see the sights. There is a good selection of tours available and it's probably the best way of seeing the city, particularly if you haven't visited before. You can choose to tour the city by bus, on foot - and even by boat on the Vltava River.
If you want to see more of the Czech Republic, then you can also take advantage of joining one of the tours from Prague which go to other areas of this incredible country. For example, you can visit the Bohemian Crystal Factory, which is near Prague. Here you can learn all about the glass making industry, which the Czech Republic is well-known for. Or if cars are more your thing, why not check out the Skoda Car Factory and Museum Sightseeing Tour. There's even a Pilsner Urquell Brewery and Caves Sightseeing Tour, which includes a visit to the famous brewery as well as a tour of the amazing Koneprusy Caves.
However, one must-see during your visit to Prague itself is Prague Castle. It is the largest ancient castle in the world and includes St Vitus Cathedral, St George's Basilica, palaces, a monastery, towers, The Story of Prague Castle Museum etc. Not surprisingly, Prague Castle is a very popular tourist attraction. Make sure that you allow plenty of time for your visit, as there is lots to see here.
While you're in the area (and if you've got the time), it's also worth visiting Prague Lesser Town, Prague Jewish Quarter (Josefov), Prague Old Town and Prague New Town. Just wander around the streets and soak up the atmosphere. Each quarter has some interesting buildings and architecture etc, so take time to stop and look around you.
Some of the main attractions include Charles Bridge, Old Town Bridge Tower, Church of Our Lady in front of Týn, and the Old Town Hall (with its amazing Astronomical Clock).
After a day's sightseeing, you will no doubt want to take the weight off your feet and sit down in one of the many cafes, restaurants and bars that Prague has to offer. The city has a great selection of places to eat and drink. Why not sample some traditional Czech cuisine during your stay?
And if you want to catch up on some retail therapy during your holiday, then be sure to check out Prague's variety of shops. There are malls and arcades, souvenir shops, boutiques and specialist shops.
The city also offers a great choice of night entertainment to offer its visitors. Whatever your taste, Prague is an ideal venue for nightlife. You can go clubbing, watch an opera, enjoy some classical music or jazz or spend an evening at the theatre. Or if you prefer, you can simply enjoy a quiet drink in one of the city's bars.
There is so much to see and do in this amazing city. After your visit, you will probably want to make a return trip to Prague.
