Don't dismiss bed and breakfast accommodation in St Lucia especially on the east coast in a gated scenic community, with access to a glorious private beach
Bed and Breakfast Accommodation is becoming increasingly popular in St Lucia, especially with the downturn in the global economy, and quite frankly, the exorbitant prices some of the large hotels are charging must be making the average holidaymaker think twice before making a reservation.
Zamaca is a great example of a new, small, very high quality bed and breakfast holiday spot in St Lucia.
It has only five very elegantly furnished bedrooms each with a bathroom, and the guestroom balconies face the lush valley of Fond and the secluded accessible private beach, as does the communal verandah. The view of the turquoise ocean between the headlands of the bay is really quite spectacular.
The great strength of Zamaca is the personal friendly premier class service offered and the exceptionally good Caribbean Western cuisine offered in the cosy but well appointed dining room.
You will have a hearty breakfast included in your nightly rate with seasonal tropical fruit, and then you have the option of a wonderful five course dinner at night if that is what you want. One huge consideration in this day and age is value for money, the prices for food and drink here gives excellent value for money
Possibly the outstanding feature of this particular bed and breakfast accommodation are the hosts Ellen and John, and their contribution to the success of Zamaca, named the top B & B in St Lucia, is incalculable. Ellen cooks like a dream, John not only serves a very potent apparently innocuous rum punch, but is also the absolute perfect host. They will greet you on arrival like old friends, and you will be by the time you leave, and that is no exaggeration. It is also wonderful to have your meals served by the cook, who is also the owner, who is a master of the Caribbean dish, using all the local fruits and vegetables
The words that guests use to describe their holiday in St Lucia staying at Zamaca include expressions like, a St Lucia Hideaway, perfectly quiet and beautiful, are two that quickly spring to mind. Other comments like Zamaca is a home away from home, and the most hospitable place in the Caribbean, if not on earth, pretty well do it justice.
The walk to the beach doesn't take long, and is well worth it, being extremely picturesque and lovely sand, and pretty well deserted. In fact the whole area is very attractive, even breathtaking, and very peaceful, with a lovely cooling breeze.
Another of the great things about staying at Zamaca is that Ellen and John know a great deal about the history of St Lucia, and the major places of interest. You should not miss Castries, Pigeon Island, Soufriere, Vieux Fort and Marigot Bay, and all are easily accomplished as a day trip.
It must be obvious by now that staying at Zamaca is not like staying in everyday bed and breakfast accommodation. This is definitely a very special experience to be treasured and used to make very happy memories of your special holiday in St Lucia.
