The Canary Island of Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, is already one of the most sought after tourist destinations in the world. To remain as such while much of Europe faces economic uncertainty, Tenerife is undergoing massive improvements to be unveiled for the 2008 vacation season. Improvements include golf, a marina, a water park and more.
One major highlight recently opened is the Marina de San Miguel. This new country club resort shows great promise. The primary focus of the Marina de San Miguel is golf. It has very nice one - and two bedroom suites, a very nice pool and many other accommodations. The restaurant is a very good value and features an English radio station. The well-maintained, extensive golf course is expected to attract golfers from around the world. It is expected to attract golfers who enjoy playing golf in a wide variety of areas but may have never visited the island before.
The Royal Marina Golf Resort is another new development that is expected to draw many tourists for the 2008 season. It is new and has a limited number of properties for this season, but promises an air of luxuriousness that will be hard to match. The resort has marble floors, air conditioning, electric shutters and satellite TV in every amazing room.
Each room also comes with a fully equipped kitchen that includes a dishwasher and microwave for the busy tourist. The very spacious rooms are set around beautifully landscaped gardens with large sun terraces to allow you to relax and enjoy the view. There is also a nicely designed pool with a red brick deck and chaise lounges for total relaxation in the sun. The Royal Marina Golf Resort is located just one minute from the new marina, ocean and golf course.
Tenerife's new marina will play host to many jet skiers, sailboats and yachts. The new marina is very close to the new golf course, making the view from the golf course just as lovely as the view from the marina. From the new marina you can watch golfers in the distance as they try their skill on the new, lush, green turf. The beautifully landscaped golf course may even lure you in to practice your swing.
One of the most exciting new additions to Tenerife is the new Siam Park. This new water park has been the buzz among tourists everywhere. The new Siam Park gives new meaning to excitement. Located on the south side of the island, this new attraction offers 14 major water attractions and five bars and restaurants.
You can relax in style as you slowly drift along the currents of the Sawasdee River and through the park. It is a very good way to take in all the sights and sounds of the rest of the park and to plan your next ride! Other rides of interest include the Lost City, where younger adventurers get to play in their own water world. Lost City is designed with child safety in mind. For the older thrill seekers, there are wilder rides like the Jungle Snake, The Volcano, The Giant, Naga Racer, Mekong Rapids, The Dragon and Tower of Power. Each ride offers a whole new thrilling experience that is sure to have tourists talking for quite some time!
Tenerife will be hoping that the investments will pay off.
