The attractions of Majorca Holidays

Majorca is a very popular island and a hotspot for many British tourists looking for sandy beaches and scorching sun. Majorca holidays would mean you can enjoy the many beautiful places on Majorca along with the amazing beaches and superb heat.

If you are a bit of an explorer then put Serra de Tramuntana on your list.

Serra de Tramuntana

Translated it means ‘mountains of the north wind’, Serra de Tramuntana runs from the southwest to the northeast region. The 88km mountain range basically forms a massive backbone of the Spanish island. It starts in Andratx to Pollenca where you can find pine tress and the rocky Sa Dragonera and Cap de Formentor along with other high peaks. If you want to venture into the hills you can enjoy a very pleasant walk with your nostrils filling with the beautiful smells of rosemary, while listening to the sheep bells ringing and enjoying the fresh air.

A holiday to Majorca with car hire will give you the opportunity to drive through these mountains, amazing tunnels and ravings make their way through between the Puig Major and Puig Massanella. If you love driving you can experience the great hairpin bends although dangerous roads to be found in this part of Majorca. Going on a Majorca holiday can mean more than relaxing in the sun if that is want you want.

Coves del Drac

While we are on the subject of venturing further a field while on Majorca holidays then the Coves del Drac (Dragon Caves) is definitely worth a visit. Found in the south of Porto Cristo these Dragon Caves have become one of the main tourist attractions for those on holidays to Majorca. The caves are open all year round with only a small fee to be paid to enter. A guide can take you through the caves explaining its history in four different languages. At the end of the tour you can also enjoy a boat ride on Lake Martel.

A Majorca holiday is more than just sun, sea and sunbathing there is plenty of tourist attractions to see and as the temperature will cooling down there now it can be a perfect time to enjoy a Majorca holiday without the draining temperatures.
