Be prepared to use a good strong sun block as you lie down underneath the palm trees and enjoy a good book. Sports lovers can indulge in water sports like kayaking, water skiing, scuba diving and snorkeling if they are feeling energetic. Similar to Singapore, Sentosa is well-sheltered from the high seas by the surrounding islands. Enjoy a romantic stroll down the beach or watch the musical fountain with laser display. Alternatively, you may want to board the sky ride and slide down the hill in a luge car.

While you can get a cheaper and wider choice of resorts in neighboring countries like Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, Singapore has a unique spread of resorts for a short beach getaway that are worth paying a little extra for.
